Oh I thought it might have been recently. It was back in july that things went pear shaped I believe. I definitely think it's worth you trying to pursue this on your own. I'd certainly ask for any paperwork back. It's your personal data after all. Watson's have been very unhelpful with me. They have chosen to ignore me once again so tomorrow my letter goes off to the law society as promised. I've had enough. I have no idea whether they're pursuing my claims or not. I'm totally in limbo. They should be shut down. I think a major investigation is warranted into loancheck and all it's associated companies. It's been a total nightmare for many of us. What still sticks in my throat is the famous phrase "6-9 months for completion". we were all told the same thing (2 years ago).

Another claim i had with HEENANS solicitors has been ongoing for ages years . i was told by loanchecker that i was misssold ppi and should get quite a sum back that was in 2007 . Now Heenans rang me yesterday and said they have ceased trading as of yesterday .

Who have stopped trading as of yesterday - Heenans or Loancheck ?

Ah ok saw your other thread and says Heenans.

Heenans solicitors are directors of i-sm@rt - so does anyone know whats happening with i-sm@rt ?

I dodnt know weather to ask for my paperwork back and try again what do you think ???

Hi there that is the norm for them to write back and say it could not be proved. That is when you forward your case to the FOS. This can take up to two years to get sorted through them so it is a long haul anyways.

May I suggest that you ring the FOS explain your situation and ask them the best way to forward this. CAB is another good starting block to say where you stand. All these organisations are free to access and have your best interests at heart.

The FOS are only able to investigate businesses if they were covered/protected by GISC or FSA, the FSA taken over from GISC in Jan 2005, but not all businesses was covered by GISC.Blackhorse included . I wrote to FOS and was told nothing they could do .

    Hi Katie

This is another reason why some have instead gone the insurer direction, it seems that they do have joint liability as well.

Many of us here have been caught in this trap where the FOS are unable to investigate because of businesses not being regulated, yet all insurers were, some have also finally been successful and some are ongoing with the FOS.

    Hope this helps.;)

    Hi Katie

BH was obviously your lender, but they use an insurer in case you had to make a claim for example, unemployment, sickness etc.
The details of the insurer BH used should be amongst your documentation.

Hopefully Marshallka will be along to give more of a detailed explanation on this for you soon.;)

    Sorry this have confused you.
