Saves you taking them off. First order of business is always remove toilet seats to give a 'deep clean', then put a new seat on anyway, isn't it?0 -
Just thought of another - thermostatic valves removed from radiators, and replaced with ordinary ones.0

When I moved into a house once the lounge carpet was about 2 feet short for the room but I hadn't noticed as the sellers had hidden it with their settee.0

Also when vendors are trying to negotiate a price for fixtures and fittings it is inevitably ridiculously high because they think all their stuff is gorgeous, even when it's a load of old tat. I've had buyers actually be pleased when the vendor throws a wobbly and pulls the carpet up, they've been that manky and old!
Yes the person I bought my current house from wanted £250 for the light fittings. They dated from about 1978 and had the velour shades with tassles and the fake white plastic candle part (gone yellow with nicotine)with the artificial drips. I said no but she left me them anyway. When I took them down they almost disintegrated. I would have been happier with a simple white rose & flex.0 -
They sound lovely milliewilly!Scar tissue that I wish you saw, sarcastic mister know it all, close your eyes and I'll kiss you cause with the birds I'll share this lonely view.0

When I bought my house 8 years ago, the seller left loads of pictures, mainly they were horse pictures, he said he didn't want them. When I moved in I took them down and put them in the spare room with the intention of throwing them away or taking them to the charity shop. Never got round to it though, and a few years ago I was watching the antiques roadshow and one of the pictures I had was on it and got valued at £2000!!!
Guess who was glad I didn't get rid of it0 -
When we were looking at rented properties , we asked what was going with the lady and we were told that she was taking the wood burning stove with her....
I have been in a house where they stripped out all the carpets which i always find a little hard to understand as what can you do with second hand carpets...ok you can cut them down to size but a whole houses worth....??0 -
