I moved from AOL to O2 and have never looked back. I'm averaging a 7mb download speed on their "up to 8meg" package, and have never had any problems with the connection at all.

I've had O2 BB for a couple of weeks now, and it's OK except that my wireless adaptor (a popular netgear model) and their router don't like each other very much...

The other thing I don't like is that their automatic BB assistant has tried to trick me into changing my Outlook settings..... Probably because I don't use the O2 proxy, as the ports I use are not blocked and work fine.

Speed is not much better than 8mb Sky (I have 20mb) but it may not be because of O2. Their router gets bad press, but I can now use my laptop upstairs while before the signal was too weak.

I was forced to change because I ended my Sky TV contract and could not keep the internet, but I'm reasonably happy with O2.

I changed over in August. Absolutely brilliant. Changed from tiscali and it`s great to have uk call centre with 0800 number. Took me a while to figure out how to connect all various wireless devices and they were really good over the phone. I had problems with tiscali using lap top upstairs but this works fine 2 floors up.

I have been with O2 for about 18 months. Loving the UK call centres, freephone number and speedy answering. The staff are very knowledgeable and I would recommend them to anyone. I have only had one problem, my router kept "crashing", turns out it was a problem at the exchange and I was changed to a different line/frequency, never had a problem since. Get brill download speeds and internet is super speedy. Am on 8mb package and have actually got over that on occassion, but the exchange is at the end of my street. Their router manages 3 desktops, 2 laptops and a ps3 without any effort whatsoever and no reduction in internet speeds when we are all surfing at the same time either.... by far the best internet out there at the minute I would think.

I am generally happy with O2 but several times a day it disconnects for a few minutes and then reconnects and all is well again. Doesn't normally cause a problem but it does mean I can't rely on the connection if I want to record a stream. They seemed to have a major problem last Saturday pm when it went off line for quite a long time.

What with bring an O2 mobile user and Quidco cash back, I have had almost free BB since January. Certainly a vast improvement on the endlessly belly-aching and bandwidth-limiting Virgin.

  • We had O2 in my university house - customer service was always excellent, very very quick download speed, very prompt with keeping us up to date on how the installation was progressing. I only ever spoke to the customer services team directly once, when we were moving out, but they were genuinely nice people and very helpful and prompt about sending us envelopes to post our router back etc.

I've been thinking about switching to them for our new wireless broadband (currently with an AOL wired broadband) but now reconsidering as we can only get Access...
