Is O2 broadband any good?

I read somewhere that they have UK call centres is that true?
Has anyone had any problems with their service? Or does anyone think that they are good?

Am thinking of moving from AOHell.

Yes they have UK call centres - who have excellent staff

Whether it is good depends on whether or not you can get the LLU package which is good:

    check here: http://www.samknows.com/broadband/search.php

The access package for non-llu customers is rebranded BT and not very good but probably better than AOL

Agree, the Standard (LLU) package is very good and so is the CS. But don't touch the Access package if you can't get LLU.
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)
  • Thanks guys, useful info.

I've just signed up with them. I have mixed feelings with them, but I think the problems I had may be due to the fact that lots of people are signing up because of the 3 months discount and £75cashback!

They were one day late to activate the service so I was without internet for 24hrs.
When I called them to find out when it was going to happen I spoke with someone with an India accent, but it could be a coincidence? He spoke very clearly, maybe he was UK based, was polite but did not have a clue as to when the service would be activated, 'anytime before midnight', but it was actually the following morning.
It would not have made any difference it he was abroad, except that often the lines are not very good (like I got for Virgin Media) or people have accents that are difficult to understand.

However I had to wait 15mins before I spoke to someone. Luckily it was a freephone number.

Set up very easy. I had a problem and tried to call technical support, but gave up when the voice said that they were busier than usual (30min this time?).

The actual activation is done by BT - so it isn't O2's fault if BT delay it

    He was definately UK based

They can be busy at times but they provide a good service

Best customer service I have come across. Their call center is in the UK. Every time I have rung them it's been instant or in under a minute and they are very friendly: and it's free!

Reviews are normally very positive, (and this was one of the main reasons why I chose O2) but hearing so many people switching to O2 now because of the good offers, I just hope they don't get overloaded.
Regarding UK based call centres, even if you speak to the UK today, it does not mean that if you call tomorrow it will still be there...

They seem to have a good idea what they are doing at least in regards to the LLU service - I doubt they would change this as it is such a big selling point for them

In my exchange it's BT or O2,despite me living in a fairly large town.
