I know we have had this 'conversation' before but I do think it pertinent to make the point again - if you are planning to switch regularly therefore you will need to sign up for the tariff BLF highlighted as it has no exit fee. Only problem being this tariff is so expensive as to make the financial benefits of switching almost non-existent. In my Yorkshire region and on average consumption that tariff is £240 per annum more expensive than the cheapest tariff! £20 a month on average. Taking into account we are entering the time of year when we use the most energy and that £20 a month figure will be inflated to maybe £30-£35 per month. It will be 3 months minimum before you manage to switch away so it's entirely possible that you will see no actual profit from this (on the surface) extraordinary £110 cashback figure.

Do your sums before going for this would be my advice (the Sunday closing date is designed to panic you IMO).

Thanks for above I am a serial switcher and just got my EON Cashback.

Ready to switch again and tempted with SP online 7 tariff and £110 cashback.

    I done my sums .

Assuming the switch happens on 1 Dec, my 4 month usage is 10, 068KWH (based on last yr), I put this on the smartmeter uk power website and it shows :- If staying with EOn on SaveOnline it will cost me £370. If Switch to SP online 7, it will cost me £288. Of course I have £50 exit fee when leaving so = £388. With the £110 cashback it = £228. So I would be better off with a 4 month switch to SP online 7 (£288), Compared to staying with Eon Saveonline (£370). Does this make sense, calculations correct?

I do understand that SP online 7 is 17% more cheaper and can go down to 3%, then this would be SP 288+17%= £336+ £50fee = £386 - £110 QC = £276, Still Better off??

Let me know what people think??

Just taken the plunge in this area of money saving, using this offer.

Previously on Npower dual fuel standard tariff, paying £105 a month, this should save us £40 a month based on last years usage.

£110 cashback should be useful too.

Never used this Quidco site before and i'm thinking of signing up for the £110 cb. How do I withdraw the £110 from my quidco account?

Its still saying there is £110 cb is this still correct?

    Cheers

You don't. Quidco pay you by BACS transfer once a month.
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)
  • The Quidco account is in my name but the energy account (with npower) is in my husband's. Does this mean, to get the cashback, my husband should open his own Quidco account then go through from that to SPower and switch? If I go from my Quidco would it work???

Quidco are still showing the deal today and I was going to switch but have read the thread about being tied in or paying exit fees. I am London based and usually pay all bills by direct debit, but I moved house last year and the new property has card meters for Gas and Electricity both with British Gas. I had to keep them in over this time last year before they would change them, it was such a pain and cost a fortune. They eventualy swapped over to normal meters and I am on websaver, but when I spoke to them about my consumption on the phone they are unable to tell me what it was due to the newmeters being put in, they only have usage from earlier this year.

Any idea how I can compare and switch to a tariffthat might save me money if I can take advantage of the quidco S/P offer whilst it's stil showing?

    Thanks.

Your husband would not have to open his own Quidco account, yours will be fine and will work.
