For those who dont want to be tied in with exit penalties, pick Online Energy Standing Charge or Online Energy No Standing Charge ( doesnt have to be a switch to a fixed rate tariff )

Ive just switched to EON and Quidco is showing my £62 as received for OCT.

Do you think it safe to switch to Scot Power for the £110 cashback, don't want to miss such high cashback from SP. Does Quidco has a deadline ?

My switch to EON from SP has just finally taken place. Quidco already received but am tempted by the £110 cashback, especially as SP have just lowered their onlibe tariff and is now cheaper for me.

Where does it say on Quidco that the offer closes on Sunday? Only on fatcheese does it say that it will reduce to £42 on Sunday.
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)

Went to apply for it and didnt realise there was a choice of duel fuel online energy saver 7 with standing charge or the same without standing charge  so came out of application to try and find out but its hard to work out which is best to get or how much difference they are

Which is best to get the online energy saver 7 with standing charge or the same without standing charge?

As far as I can see Online Energy Saver 7 only comes in the no standing charge flavour - there isn't any [daily] standing charge version.

BristolLeedsFan is referring to their standard online tariff which comes in both flavours. It is recommended as it has no leaving fee - to move from Online Energy Saver 7 you will be charged £50 if you do so before Nov 2010.

(But where there is a choice between standing charge and no [daily] standing charge versions of the same tariff it is normal practice to plump for the no [daily] standing charge version. There are usually only rounding errors differences in the prices.)
  • I know we have had this 'conversation' before but I do think it pertinent to make the point again - if you are planning to switch regularly therefore you will need to sign up for the tariff BLF highlighted as it has no exit fee. Only problem being this tariff is so expensive as to make the financial benefits of switching almost non-existent. In my Yorkshire region and on average consumption that tariff is £240 per annum more expensive than the cheapest tariff! £20 a month on average. Taking into account we are entering the time of year when we use the most energy and that £20 a month figure will be inflated to maybe £30-£35 per month. It will be 3 months minimum before you manage to switch away so it's entirely possible that you will see no actual profit from this (on the surface) extraordinary £110 cashback figure.

Do your sums before going for this would be my advice (the Sunday closing date is designed to panic you IMO).
