    Well done Craftgranny!

What a bargain, this looks really good! Are those sweets stuck down on the plate?

    hi everyone,

all of these towel cakes are lovely, I just wondered do you wash the towels you buy before making the cakes?

Also I would like to make some this year (not long left I know :( ) and need some ideas...

1 of my aunties likes dove smellys so would like to do a small cake (would prefer flannels instead of bath towels but want to make something not too small) but can't find many/cheapish individual dove products and I find the gift sets you get are expensive for what you get! This can include chocolates etc., so far have thought of couple of flannels, bath gloves, nail brushes, bath scrunchie and that's all :(

What could be put in for uncles? (again same size as the one for auntie above), no preferences that I can think of

1 auntie isn't very well so would like to make her a kind of relaxation type cake but she can't eat chocolate, as far as I know most smellys are ok but need a christmasyish colour theme, this can include most of the same as auntie above

For my mum she likes crafts so thought of a crafty one as she has said no smellys this year but I’m having difficulties finding things cheap enough to put in and what I could use to put it all in :(, again this can include choccys

My dad likes football (he supports arsenal) so would like to do a red and gold themed cake/basket but I’m at a loss for items to go in and possibly a basket or something.

Male friend who likes Star Wars/Simpson’s, I was thinking slippers, choccys and things, his favourite colour is red, this can include bath items and choccy items

Unfortunately I am on a budget but do have some items already that I could possibly put into the above, I'm looking for items from shops such as Wilkinsons, £stretcher, B&M, etc., Asda or Tesco (as long as low cost)

If you have any ideas then please post or send me a PM if you would like more info for likes dislikes etc.

Any help would be appreciative for the above as I am at loss at the moment :( because of having a budget :(

Edit: I forgot to ask, how do you make the reindeer flannel cakes?

    Reindeer flannel thread here

Netto had some dove mini's for 19p each a few weeks ago i got some for some cakes i did. I think i have about 4 left over if you want them pm me your addy and i'll post them to you.
I put a folding hairbrush in some of mine i got 2 for either a pound or 1.50 in b & m they also do a big tub of dove body cream for 1.99 there is one inside the pink cake above.
B & m also do spa sets for 1.99 which are fab on cakes you can get 7 assorted bottles of spa products in a lovely blue with silver tops . These look good on square cakes with a bath scrunchie 39p from home bargains . They also do a spa set in a little make up type bag with a couple of products and a bath scrunchie .Not very chrissmasy colours but the bottle tops on these are silver so they look good with silver ribbons or fancy tinsel and decorations on too. poundland do a pack of tiny baubles this colour too which would be great added on the cake. i did one but forgot to take a picture.
I did a mans one a few weeks ago with some bottles of lynx shower gel and a bath scrunchie for a fundraiser a few weeks ago it sold in minutes . poundstretcher do a fab set of towels for these you get 2 bath towels , 2 hand towels and 2 face cloths for £6 and you get 1 of each in red and in black . I bought a set and split them.
Wilkinsons do craft things and not all of them are expensive in my store they had a kind of a goody bag with assorted items in for about a fiver . As for something to put it in could you use a dvd type storage box . b & m have some lovely ones and they aren't expensive . I use them to store a lot of my craft stuff in.
If you do a towel cake and can't get items the right colour i often buy things and tuck them into the layers on the towel iyswim so they can't be seen and the recipiant gets a lovely surprise when they open it and all the hidden goodies become visable.
For things like football items and character items you just have to go from shop to shop looking at everything and trying to find a way to incorporate it.
probably not much help and very long winded sorrry. lol few pics of my cakes etc here

    Morning Piggybanksaver

I'm about to make another man's cake too for someone who supports Leeds United - I'm waiting for a Leeds United towel to be delivered and then plan to put a bottle of champers in the middle of the cake.

My cakes are all on here:

I second what Craftgranny said though and find that Wilkinsons have some really love bath products if you're looking for those.

Lovely cakes by the way Craftgranny!
