Do you mean the voucher towards the cost of glasses if unemployed, if so yes they can be used with the offer as I used one

Just to second what Sue S said above, Ive just been into Asda Corby and asked how much it would be for 1.7 lenses and she at first said £180 for the two pairs but she had a bit of a mess about on the system, and put it in a different way, and came up with free! (or included in the £90 at least!)

As a word of warning she said that did seem too good to be true and thought it might be a glitch, but she was really nice and instead of reporting it or anything she just suggested I got them as quick as I can! Pity I was just on my lunch and havent got a recent prescription.

I was told it was a new deal which started this week, last week it would have cost an extra £180 but the deal which started this week was complete glasses with no extra charge if you require the thinner lens

Can someone confirm whether the 1.74 is included in the 'standard lens' price...or is it just 1.67/1.7? THANKS!

The 1.74 was included for me. I think it depends on your prescription.

You obviously have quite good eyesight and have no problem with standard lenses. For those of us with a -7.00 and above prescription the thickness of the lens is very important. To get the thinnest lens you have to pay a large supplement, that's why we are all so excited by Asda's offer.

They do sell designer makes, the only two I can remember are Morgan and Playboy but there were other designers, the designer frames are £70 or 2 pairs for £90 or you can choose the George Frames for £50 or 2 for £90 they are all the latest styles and lots of different styles :)

Hi Sue, what's your prescription? Do you have to fulfill a certain prescription to get the thinner lenses?

Mine are about -5.50/-6.00 (plus astigmatism), and I wear 1.74 plastic lens and they cost a lot of money! I can get away with 1.67 in plastic frames, but I usually wear semi-rimless and always get 1.74s to get a good finish.

If they are giving 1.74s at standard price (or even 1.67) that's a great bargain. :T

EDIT: just found this on Hotukdeals:
"whatever index you need, they go up to a 1.8 glass. think its 1.6 for up to -5.00, 1.7 for -5.00to -7.50 then 1.74 and over. they also do aspherics lenses free of charge."
