HI, if you only want one pair it is the same deal you get the thinnest lenses for your prescription included, and can be from either the £50 range or the £70 range :cool:

My prescription is about -9 I think. I prefer plastic lenses for safety. Anyone know how these would look with the newer fangled sqaure frames? Will they stick out at the corners?

PS anyone got this to work at Asda Stevenage? Thanks in advance.

I popped into my Asda (Eastlands, Manchester) and checked out this offer, they politely informed me that as far as they knew, it's not an "offer" but the standard price from here on - and they said they were amazed at it too!

Now I can afford to wait for my Tax Credit letter in order to qualify for the NHS voucher, knowing that the low prices won't expire.

Tonyg dont know what you mean by 'got this to work' but I am going in the Stevenage branch on Saturday for an eye test and to order a couple of pairs of glasses of least one of which will be varifocal. Dont know my prescription but I have always had extra thin lenses which normally cost around £150-200.

Just to let you know I ordered mine from Asda Stevenage and they really were very helpful.

I was advised that I didn't need thin lenses for my varifocal but I wanted them and I have paid £40 extra for an upgrade for 1 pair .There is nothing on the website about paying for an upgrade.
Is this right?

It depends on how strong your prescription is, as to how thin a lens they will provide, I think they have three different thickness of lenses and dependent on your prescription as to which band you fall into i,e. if your prescription is -/+ 7 or over you get the thinnest (but not certain on the exact prescriptions for each band), if you are only mildly shortsighted you dont automatically get the ultra thinnest lens

did you have to pay an extra £80 overall ? as I know it is an extra £40 for varifocal lenses

My nearest Asda branch with an opticians is about an hour from me so can anyone tell me if they stock any full rimless frames ? This is a great deal as I need the thinner lenses but I don't want a wasted journey if they've only got a limited choice of frames and no rimless. Thanks.
