You are assuming that everyone wants to put their feet up at 65. Many don't.

I think its more likely he's assuming ageism in the workplace!

But as the workforce ages then the boundaries may well have to be moved.

You don't grasp that the social and cultural damage from immigration clearly outweighs any economic gain.

We need to sort out the problems in our own country without the need to simply import cheap labour. If that means paying more now for pensions or working longer then so be it.

Putting aside your clear racist tendencies for just one moment.... (As obviously there is no reason why cultural or social damage must result from immigration:rolleyes:)

What you obviously don't grasp is that there is no other solution.

The national insurance contribution of a 20 year old today would have to roughly triple, for life, in order to move forward the pension obligations by the two generations required. And even that may not be enough.....

Imagine a 33% NI contribution on top of a 20% to 50% income tax rate...

Now imagine it being in place for 75 years or more.

It would absolutely destroy our economy and our nation to limit immigration as you suggest.

Perhaps time to stop listening to the BNP fascists and start thinking things through for a change.....

If we do have to have some economic migrants (and I am unconvinced)

If you go down to your local NHS hospital you will find that A&E, medical wards and surgical wards are being run by foreign doctors, nurses and other clinicians. They pretty much keep our NHS going.

That should just be one small example that will convince you that we need economic migrants.

If there wasn't as many people working in public sector non jobs, or nurses were paid a decent wage, this wouldn't be such a problem.

Importing cheap labour is not necessarily the best solution.

Immigrants come in all levels of skill, and can earn all levels of wages.

The concept that immigrants come here to undercut our wage structure and gain an unfair advantage in the labour market by doing so is an artificial construct, created by those of poor ability seeking an unfair advantage for themselves by limiting competition for labour.

We employ people from all over the world. We pay the same amount per job role no matter the race, ethnicity, or national origin of the employee. To do otherwise would be illegal, not to mention immoral.

Immigrants can and do however compete for jobs based on ability, attitude, and the desire to work hard and better themselves. If those qualities are lacking in some sections of the indigenous population, it is hardly the immigrants fault....

A huge quantity of highly skilled individuals does not necessarily equal prosperity.
As an example the people of Norway and Switzerland are wealthier than the Chinese.

    .

No but it does give a nation a significant advantage in global competition.

Which is one of the reasons why China's economic growth rates are far in excess of those in Europe.

For now.... But not for much longer.;)

I suggest you move to China, the land of wealth and prosperity.
I'll emigrate to a large country wth a lower population. Canada or Australia maybe. :)

There are a large number of rich Chinese, the gap between the rich and the poor is very wide.

The aspirations of the poor makes them work harder to earn money and better their lives. They are innovative and driven. The world is being run by China by proxy. Look at all the goods you use and the clothes you buy. Where is it made?
