How can I send free postage to all countries in the world for a 99p item ? They are forcing us to go above the 99p free listing by not allowing us to cover postage. Thats sneaky tactics.

Free P&P only has to be for the first domestic option. I think you need to read up on the rules a bit so at least you can do an informed Rant

But uninformed ranting is a great tradition ;):D
This is my opinion. There are many others like it but this is mine

I am a professional ebay seller. I work hard at my job, I love my job, if you think it's silly that's your problem not mine. :p

Their ball, their rules - if you do not like it, which clearly you don't, then go elsewhere to sell - ebid, local classfieds, car boot sales, ibootsale.com, cqout.co.uk, 121bid, ioffer, bonanzle, atomic mall, preloved, flog.co.uk, totalbids, iwac, ecrater, elfingo to name but a few alternatives.

People have been stamping their feet for ages about ebay changes, but not many people are voting with their feet and going elsewhere.

Either adapt and continue, or go elsewhere - complaining gets nobody anywhere with ebay, especially as they reported increased revenue and growth yesterday.

Can anyone recommend any of the above?
  • Usually when i am selling something on ebay and it tells me that the postage is supposed to be free i usually just select the courier option and add the postage fee in the item descrition. But i have not sold anything in about a month and things might have changed by then but i hope this helps, if it still works.

Its good if you don't want to sell anything on Ebay, its a sure way of getting suspended.

Ebid is a waste of time, but placing a free ad in the local paper has worked for me more than once and I've shifted of plenty of tat through good ole Gumtree at no cost whatsoever. I've made quite a few overseas sales just from a local ad, people are now using 'all of Gumtree' search engines like ilumu.com to find what they're after. Vivastreet is good too, with free 'bumps' like you used to get on Gumtree before eBay bought it. Don't dismiss a card in the foyer of your local supermarket too, that's free and there's plenty of passing traffic.

And then they won't sell because it's hard enough to get sales at the current prices. So buyers won't be ripped of with high postage....? Great, now they just pay much higher prices for an item.

    Huh??

    A £10 item with £4 postage = £14
    A £14 item with free postage = £14

They would appear to be exactly the same price to me...

It's also psychosomatic for the buyer:

I bought something the other day that I won for £10.50, with postage being £12. I actually felt rather p*ssed off that they'd so massively overcharged on postage (I had no idea what it would cost to send - it was only a fraction of the £12). I gave them a 2* for postage DSR.

If they'd actually just asked £22.50 for the item with free postage, they would have got a 5* for their postage!
Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)

So all postage is free. What about postage overseas ? Thats always higher and I will definatley loose out by listing as free.

Is it just me or are there a lot of one eyed views in favor of Ebay here ?

You can still specify P+P price to foreign places. Just charge them the difference between the UK price and the foreign price.
