I sometimes (less often now) get the calls, I just say that I have double glazing, cavity insulation, roof insulation and new condensing boiler, have I missed anything? They invariably put the phone down.

Had a phone call today from another Indian sounding woman who was doing "market research". I asked what about and she said energy efficiency. When I asked her if this was anything to do with a company from Blackburn and she just put the phone down.

Seems they have changed tack slightly....

Ooh we got one of these this evening from "Energy Grant Advisory Service". This thread was the first thing on Google - excellent

Conversation went a bit like this...
Him: "Can I speak to the property owner?"
Me: "Where are you calling from?"
Him: "We are the Energy Grant Advisory Service"
Me: "Have you been asked to call us?"
Him: "We are offering free insulation..."
Me: "No, that's not what I asked. I asked whether you had been asked to contact us."
Him: "..."
Me: "We are registered with the Telephone Preference Service. Do you know what that is?"
Him: "Yes but it does not count for us as we are offering grants, not making a sales call."
Me: "It does count for you, it doesn't matter what you are offering. Now please take us off..." (click, brrr) "...your database." (speaking to self by end as Mr Man has hung up).

Have made complaint to the TPS. At least if enough people do that they may make a report to the ICO.

I have had many calls from these people even though we are on TPS, from the following numbers 09131 x 2, 00 x 1, 056255 x 2 , 091726, I have recorded all times and dates.Today I received 1 call whilst I was out @ 15.03 from 01079 and 1 @ 15.23 from 01053 he said his name was Shaun from the Grants Advisory Council. I spoke to my local trading standars about these calls and he said all I could really do is contact the TPS service.Today I told him that because I have requested them not to call & I am registered with TPS that I will be reporting him to my local Trading Standards office. Only time will tell if these people take note!!!!

Just had an International call from an Asian accented man saying he wAs calling from the Energy Grant Advisory Service and saying our house is eligible for a grant for insulation. I was having fun pretending I couldn't understand him and spoke Spanish to him. Got him a bit frustatred I think because he couldn't then follow his standard blurb! I asked where he got my number from and he said the UK Government. I told him the Government wouldn't issue every household's number in the Uk and said my number is ex-directory, the Government don't have it and I am registered with TPS and told him karma would get him back for lying! He hung up.

For several months now i've been getting phone calls from asian sounding people who are allways arrogant and rude roughly two weeks ago i got a call and as usual there was a good few seconds silence so i said to them if your'e not going to talk dont bloody phone and hung up. a few seconds later he phoned back calling me a mother F_ _ _ _R.had a good rant at me then hung up. When i rang the T.P.S. to see what i could do about it they said they couldnt do anything without the company name and phone number. so what is the point of having T.P.S. if that is the case. You can guarantee if i started ringing people up speaking to them like that i would get arrested and took to court. So whats so different about them that they can get away with it. Im so frustrated and speaking of these calls I've just received another whilst typing this message 3rd one this week.

thank-you for posting a link for their website , I posted a low WOT ( web of trust) rating and a warning comment , to warn other people to stay away from the company and no matter what warning them not to give the company their contact details. Anyone else who is registered with WOT should do the same to warn others , as-well as reporting them to TPS, we need to report them on mass because it's getting silly now , people just shouldn't be allowed to phone us up day and night plus weekends, and swear at us! it's not on. I'm going to look into my asking my landline service provider in to blocking the number surely they would be able to do that , but the question is will they?

Beware!

I've started a sustained attack by completing the contact form many times, with fictitious details except the phone number and message 'stop calling me'.

There appears to be a glitch on the webpage in that you can click 'Submit' several times slowly (I've done 100 submits in one go) and it appears to send it each time.

When you get to the accepted screen (or internal server error message if you're too quick) just press the browser back tab once or twice to get your contact details back and submit again.

I think I've sent about 5,000 requests so far!

I also intend to test my smoke alarm down the phone when I get any more nuisance calls.

Despite being registered with the TPS and ex-directory, we are being plagued by cold-calls from scammers and telesales.

It has got to the stage where we don't normally answer the phone. My ansaphone has a message which asks the caller if they are legitimate or dodgy. If dodgy, hang up now and don't phone back. If legitimate, please leave a message.

Most dodgy callers hang up during the first part of the message.

If the cap fits......:D

I just got a helpful call from these guys offering me free insulation, its a great deal but they seemed to have my details wrong so i updated them for them

heres what they are incase any one else wants to send me some interesting deals
