Just had a call from these muppets, I presume, the pitch was the same.

The 2nd this week.

Strangely the number was 01002.

The caller was basically rude when I said "not interested". Kept repeating "Why?". Do these organisations have no idea how ridiculous they are?

My wife spoke to these people last night after my daughter stupidly answered the phone! Again, we are registered with TPS.

They said we were entitled to 50% off loft & cavity wall insulation. My wife strung them along a bit and said that somebody from 'Viscount Insulations' would ring us on Monday night and set us up with a password so we would know it was them.

The number they called from was 087121881191.

Needless to say - won't be speaking to them again! Even if we do really need some more loft insulation.

An update for you....

I've spoken to somebody at the Energy Saving Trust regarding these people. This is what they told me, "You were right to be wary of such organisations as they are not linked to government and are simply using this introduction to sell you insulation".

So, there you go. Stay clear. I'm going to contact my local council I think as they have a scheme whereby they can fit more loft insulation for £99.

I'd like to report this company for cold calling - first saying they were from the Grant Advisory Service and then saying the company was: viscount_insulation 0808 230 8650
(although when i did 1471, the number came up as 08712 188 1191)

I'm with the tps

Doesn't anyone know the best way to report them?

I had the first call from someone from the Grants Advisory Board last Friday, I told them I wasn't interested, as I already have very deep loft insulation, he tried to persist that it wasn't deep enough, so, I told him that I had to go out, and he quickly said I'll ring you again.

He or someone rang again last night, and despite me telling him that I was not interested, he persisted, until I told him to go away!

No surprises that I just had another call, I remained calm and told him that I had already said that I wasn't interested, and he told me I was!:rotfl:

I put the phone down!

The number is showing as international on my phone, and no number left if you ring 1471, I am also registered witht he TPS.

Kevin from the Grants advisory Board just rang again, this time the number shows as unavailable!

I've heard of these jokers in the past but this evening was the first time I've actually had a call from them. The number showed as international on the phone's display and the only reason I answered was because I have relatives overseas who call regularly.

Anyway the caller asked for me by name and then informed me he was calling from The Grant Advisory Service. Straight away I said I'd heard of this type of call before and that I wasn't interested. He
then told me to go do something to myself, repeatedly, and then
hung up. Like many on here I'm registered with the TPS but
unfortunately this does not prevent nuisance calls from overseas.
What I am concerned about is how they were able to link my
phone number to my name as I'm not listed???

Same as everybody else......... I got a call last week and when I said I was registered with the Telephone Preference Service they hung up.
Another call today from a guy who refused to give me his name, told me it couldn't possibly have been his company that rang.
Told me, under pressure, that they are based at St Helens, Moss Side and number came up as 0871 21881191 (which incidentally when I rang I got through to a message saying that it was a 'Digital Mail PM CLub number, not in use but available to buy')
Have put in a complaint via TPS - it gets added to their report to the Information Commisioner :mad:

Have just spoken to the TPS regarding this 'company'

it seems there isn't a company with this name, but that it looks to be something to do with a company called Vicount Insulation.

The best thing to do is to log the call - time, date, any information you can about who they are, phone number, where they say they got your details etc. and then contact the TPS and complain.

They can then contact the people who are contacting you and complain on your behalf to them and hopefully stop the calls. If the calls don't stop, keep logging them, get back to the TPS and then they can escalate the issue further it seems.

I'm now waiting to see if my calls from the 'Grant Advisory Service' will stop.

Today I had a telephone calls (withheld number ouit of area) from people claiming to be from The Grant Advisory Service. They asked to speak to my wife and I asked if I could take a message they wanted to talk about cavity wall insulation and loft insulation grants that we were entitled to I told them we already had both and put the phone down. They (I assume) rang back my wife piked up the phone and they blurted out an abusive rant and then hung up.

Surely there must be some way of getting to these people and getting them shut down we are registered with TPS but it does not seem to stop thius type of call. :mad:
