Grant Advisory Service telesales

I am getting 2 or 3 calls a week from these people. Usually Asian sounding people wanting to tell me that i am entitled to a grant to insulate my home, which is already insulated fully! I getting tired of these calls, I am registered on the TPS but am unable to get a number to pass on to get this company stopped. I have not subscribed to anything nor filled any questionaires about insulation in the last 5 years.0

A better way is to let the companies they are acting on behalf of, contact you, then tell their salesman that there is no way you would ever deal with their company as they use a legally dubious company to get their leads.0

do these people ever give up!!had around 7 calls in last 2 weeks, one of which was 8.50pm!! well my answer is to get one of those foghorns and blast it down the phone. extreme i'm sure but i've told them i'm registered on the TPS but to no avail they just keep on and on0

You can always have fun like this bloke. https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/741653I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

We've had seven calls in the last week from Grant Advisory Services and after each one we have asked to be taken off their register. We are registered with TPS. The latest caller said that the company was based in St Helens, Lancashire.0

Hi , just had a couple of these calls tonight, you can stop them dead with this, although they may and will call again in the future( just like lemmings who don't or can't learn) When you ask who's calling and they say Grant Advisory Service, thank them for calling and then say straight away "I need you to tell me the First and third letter of the pre-arranged password please" That stumps them, they um and ah and probable say their name is (usually it is an anglo-saxon origin name like Mark, Peter, David) and you ask for the password letters again. Upon failure, which always happens,(as there is no password), you can then say "I'm sorry I cannot carry on talking to you under the Data Protection Act. They ring off or you put the phone down whoever is quickest. It really p***es them off and you've not had to swear.0

Just had a call from this lot. Another (or the same?) foreign chap asking if I was the home-owner and if I had had a govt grant for insulation. I strung him along a bit while I did an internet search, found this forum and asked him where he was ringing from, he said Southport but it sounded much further away than that. When I asked how he had got this number he rang off. 1471 gives the number as 087121881191. I haven't bothered searching any further as I have spent enough time on this already...
Stay safe out there, folks!0 -
The calling number was (according to BT) 087 121 881 191.
When I asked the guy if he worked for the government he said yes. He then said he was going to give me information on a grant that I had been "shortlisted" for (obviously not the way government grants work!), but first he needed to know if I had applied for any grants in the last ten years. I pointed out that if he worked for the government, he would know that already.
We went around this circle four times until he said he would put me on to his supervisor, and the phone went dead.0 -
We had a call from these jokers the other night at 9pm, even though we are with TPS. I hung up on them. Re the organisation called 'Generating Leads Solutions (GLS) Warwick', mentioned by others --- I called them yesterday and had a chat with the manager there. It's not them. GLS did a legit survey in 2009. Somebody is using this reference (from God know's where). Don't waste your time engaging these guys, just bang the phone down.0

Just looked at the GLS website and looking at their client list I have been cold called by most of them.
