However, I recon the Charities now receiving these, and the children they are going to will be delighted.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -
Dont get me wrong, I think it is a brilliant idea that they donate them all to charity, it will raise lots of money and I am sure that the chrildren will get more joy out of them then the initial thrill of us seeing the Meerkat on christmas day and then it sitting on our sofa at home for the next few years. I just wanted to know one way or the other as I need to get something for my DH for christmas if he isnt getting a Meerkat.0

what about people who had wanted to buy them for THEIR children????? what are you going to say to their dissapointed faces........ "sorry but you're not special enough!"?
personally Harrods should sell them to those that have been promised.
They can then donate ALL the money raised (or toy equivalent) to the charities.
So WHAT if people sell them on???? If I could I would........ I would then use the huge profit I would make to put on my own debts to make my own sons life better.
Sorry - and I am anticipating a stabbing here - but MY son will ALWAYS be a higher priority to ME then anyone elses!! Thats not to say I don't feel for other children and their situations but they are not MY first priority!!
Just for the record I didn't order one (or even try too) before anyone acuses me of being jealous etc.loves how my "I've been censored" signature has been censored. LOL. Happy Christmas. :xmastree:0 -

im not ashamed at all.
i just want to know either way, this not knowing is a nightmare as i dont know if i need to go out and get shopping and choose sometrhing else.
That is nothing to be ashamed about. I was promised back in october a meerkat they have changed there minds supposedly but i need to know for definate, i dont think thats unreasonable0 -
chicky wiggle,
Totally agree with you. My wee boy is a mad meerkat fan and quotes "simples" at any given opportunity. When I heard these were going for sale, i thought I had found the worlds best present for him.
However to people who think wanting a meerkat for your children is deeply selfish, then I'm sorry but i dont agree. Yes, its a generous idea for harrods to donate to charity but surely this should have been stated at the outset and people like myself wouldnt have bothered going on a waiting list.
I give to charity, esp cancer charities at xmas. And also give a mountain of toiletries to our local women/teenage girl shelter. I'm not a complete scrooge who begrudges dying/terminally ill people some joy at xmas and i dont think for one second that anyone on this forum thinks that way. Speaking for myself, I'm jsut gutted that my wee boy will not be able to open up a meerkat pressie on xmas day.:heartpuls:heartpuls:heartpulsPrincesses wear crowns to remind them that they are beautiful and special because some days its easy to forget. :heartpuls:heartpuls:heartpuls0 -

I doubt they would be that dissapointed unless you had already told them they would be getting one.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0
