I personally think Harrods cannot handle the logistics of 5000 meerkats for collection or posting.
At xmas, for the sales, maybe instead of queuing, people should just shop at a charity shop instead. Afterall, success means going elsewhere

A contract is any promise or set of promises made by one party to another for the breach of which the law provides a remedy. The promise or promises may be express (either written or oral) or may be implied from circumstances.

I dont know, but I am going to launch Meerkat Action Group (Mag)
  • I just spoke to the toy department at Harrods, despite there being an answer phone message saying if your call is about the meerkat please check our website for updates. I explained I was on the reservation list but hadn't had a call like some people last week, the lady wouldnt give any information at all and all she could say was check the website, I did ask her if the people on the reservation list would get Meerkats and she said she thought so. She didnt have any clue about them all being donated to charity.

What a bunch of self-centred selfish people you are - the toys are going to some very very sick/dying children who will really enjoy them at a horrible time, instead of some fans, and a whole bunch of profiteering greedy pigs who no doubt would instantly put them on ebay/private market for thousands of pounds. I would have thought some of the charities will auction off a couple, if there is interest all around the world, you can bet some of that is from very rich people indeed whom would make a massive contribution to some very worthwhile causes in the pursuit of getting one of these toys rather than greedy individuals profiteering out of it. Shame on you individuals for not thinking of those that will be receiving these this christmas, which could well be their last christmas.

Well done Harrods I say for putting charity before profit this christmas (and yes, cynical people, some pr as well, but as a lot of you are showing, it's backlash PR, so not really the welcome sort...)
Do not feed the trolls please.
  • I wonder if posting their decision to give them away on their website was reconsidered, and that's why the page has changed. Maybe they were told they had contracts with those who reserved them and they've had to renege on the charity idea? Also I reckon London Zoo wouldn't be very happy to lose out on the extra funds.

    It's only a game

I fully agree with you!!!!! I myself and lots of other people I know were seriously ill as children, and this is FANTASTIC. I'm so happy they're going to some lovely little children who will love them!!
