  • i suspect people have been able to pick them up cheap as prices have dramatically fallen, hoping to sell them on when they are fewer and far between for more money.
  • I got one for xmas, the only reason for this was OH was extremely lucky to win one from the Sun newspaper.

Beckett you really are one to take things too far. Honestly a stuffed toy and you're throwing your toys our of the pram, do you really think you'd win against harrods? Provided me, my family and friends with loads of giggles though!

yes i think I would. However, now that the loss of bargain is a small sum, it is not worth my time trying to launch another crusade and the charity element could tarnish my public image lol.
  • Seriously the country is in utter disrepair and all you spoilt brats are worried about is an over-rated little meerkat toy, what is wrong with you?, So what if harrods decided to give them to charity instead of you small minded, ignorant people dont you think it was about time the charity started at home, I think it was the best thing they could have done, So whilst your at home eating your cavier and sipping champagne wondering what the silver spoon fed child of yours will get for christmas show a little respect.

My son has been a patient at Evelina Childrens Hospital now since birth and had heart surgery at six months old, This was the worst possible time I my partner and family have ever had to endure,Let me tell you without charities we would'nt have been able to stay close to my son because they had no room on the wards. We stayed at the Ronald MacDonald House which is a registered charity through Macdonalds it was so comforting to know that we could be close to him as the Government were sure as hell not going to fund it as they are too busy lining they're own pockets.

All the hospitals accross Britain rely on generous handouts from the public to pay for vital equipment and the doctors and nurses at these hospitals do hero work. Never mind the poor children who are in pain day in day out and filled with drugs to keep them alive who always smile, and the parents that have to go through the pain and agony of not knowing the outcome or having to go to hospital appointments on a regular basis and spend hundreds of pounds on the congestion charge and car parks. Ok the Meerkat toy might not solve all their problems but have you ever been stuck at a hospital appointment for more than an hour and got fed up, Well try Days,Months and the Christmas period whilst everyone is out partying, putting the decorations up, opening presents. How much fun do you think the children, parents and siblings have in hospital when they could be at home?.

Anyway I would'nt like to rub salt in the wound but my son has the meerkat toy and I'd say rightly so with what he's been through and I intend to keep it along with all his other toys that make him smile.

This is in direct reply to chickywiggle-
Reading your posts on here has made me utterly sick. This is probably the first time in your life you have ever had to face dissapointment and lets face it your child probably thinks no is a naughty word. I am not saying your child isn't important but would a meerkat really have a life changing effect on them. The poor sick children didnt ask or demand for these toys they were simply given them and why the hell not.
My advice to you if you are so bothered is to buy a normal meerkat and make the clothes for it yourself, then record the advert and let your child listen and watch it every day as it is so educational and will teach them an array of skills and vocabulary.
