They are happy, and yes they are noisy and messy and sleep-depriving. The two we have get on sooo well, and I don't want to mess with that. It just feels somehow selfish, and there's also the sneaking feeling that...what if we don't stop at 3...but having DD2 was so perfect, that its sort of addictive.

I wouldn't want to say yes or no, but having DS2 worked out for me (at 39). I started thinking about another baby when DS1 was about 8. I got broody when his friend next door had a baby sister and DS1 started asking about a brother (not a sister, though!). I chickened out of making a conscious decision, because my body said yes, but my head very definitely said no (lack of support from DH, money, existing workload etc). I just allowed it to happen and we were all chuffed to bits when it did, but it could have gone so wrong (and the concerns I had were very valid, as I've since realised). The pregnancy was definitely tougher, ten years on. It's worked out ok and all the broody feelings went completely, so there will not be a No.3 for us, but my neighbour struggled much more with the decision to stop after 2.

I hope that you'll come to a decision that's right for all of you. How do your girls feel about babies? Maybe DD1 is old enough to chat about it?

Pigpen, glad you’ve finally got sorted out! Hope you recover quickly

Grateful, maybe having another brother or sister would be good for your kids? It might make them even happier and teach them lots of good qualities. Can’t really advise you, but I would say, you only live once so if you really want more kids then go for it! I don’t think its selfish at all. Did you think you were being selfish by having the first two? I am the oldest of two and always wished mum and dad would have another baby.

    Welcome Charly

Sexy, come and tell us how today went, pur-lease!

Really wanted a snack, but got up and did another 1500 steps instead. Have gone over my 5000 for the day now. Yay! Go me!

princess lou massive (((hugs))) pet - thats so hard to deal with - but we are all here and will listen whenever you need to rant - well done you for getting on with things - keeping busy helps and if he does decide to go you will still want the place to be nice for you and DS. You shouldnt have to put up with anyone who threatens or is abusive to you - its not right
    - dont let him make you feel bad - its not your fault - he's just bullying you as wilf so rightly said. None of us should have to 'change' for the other - they should love us for who we are not who they want us to be IMHO

    D'you know I wanted two.
Mind you I wanted two girls BUT fortunately, as soon as I knew I was PG the first time I also 'knew' it was a boy and had no trouble bonding. Mind you I also 'knew' I would have a section so was unfazed by the 36 hour labour, the drama, and the emergency dash to theatre and all the stress and hassle - I just 'knew' it would be ok

OOPS RANT ALERT (I didn't intend to rant it sort of happened...)

However by the time DD came along the staffing had changed and had SHE been my first she would have been my last because there was no way I would have had a second one there. I did complain to my GP midwife but heard nothing - I used to cry telling the story for YEARS afterwards - birth (section) fine but the staff were a load of uncaring !!!!!es...

In fact one cow of a nurse came in to tell me her daughter had been accepted for nurse training and it was all I could do NOT to say I hope she's a damn sight better at it than YOU

so Pigpen - now you can see why I have kept my mouth shut! And my mum was a nurse and is disgusted with the way the system is now. !!!!!! when I had to shave an 'area' for a vein op I was given a razor and I asked what I could shave into and the nurse said drop it on the floor - so anyone looking under the curtain would have seen pubes dropping on the floor. How gross. I refused. A kidney dish and blue paper towel was brought. I should flippin well think so.

And when DD was in hospital over a weekend in childrens there were more staff than patients (patients - 2 saturday - 1 sunday! - rest had been sent home for the weekend! so just DD) and I still had to do loads for her...while they hung asbout on nurses station AND NEVER EVEN TOLD ME WHERE THE PARENTS ROOM WAS SO I COULD MAKE A CUP OF COFFEE.
The canteen was so far away I NEVER went - THEY wouldn't feed me - i had KFC brought IN!
(I mean - surely parents could order and pay for food rather than having to go away from their sick children...)
