For me, Nat West / RBS have always been the best to get loans from.0 -
I have two current accounts (Lloyds and Nat West).
The reason being when I only had the one account, due to a faulty ATM machine, my one and only debit card got swallowed on a friday evening just before a bank holiday.
Hence now two accounts (with two cards) just incase one gets lost or damaged or swallowed etc. (I always leave one hidden at home).

I have two - my Halifax Student Current Account (which I may soon move to either the RBS Graduate Account or the A&L one recommended on the current accounts page), which is where my salary etc gets paid into, and a Nationwide FlexAccount which I use for holiday money.
I also have a cash ISA which is in the process of being moved from Halifax to First Direct."A mind needs books as a sword needs a whetstone, if it is to keep its edge." - Tyrion LannisterMarried my best friend 1st November 2014Loose = the opposite of tight (eg "These trousers feel a little loose")Lose = the opposite of find/gain (eg "I'm going to lose weight this year")0 -
3 x Halifax Reward accounts for the free £180 it makes per year.
1 x Nationwide Flex Account for advantageous foreign spending rates.0 -
i have 2 accounts (lloyds and natwest)
i have one account that my salary goes into and all my bills/direct debits/standing orders
then the remainder is swept into my other account and that is used for living out of etc
i find it is easier that way as i leave the amount in the 1st account to cover all the outgoings so it doesnt ever go overdrawn and then i know what i have left over as thats in the 2nd account
make that 5 now, as have 3 halifax reward accounts for the £5's managed to get there in time before they limited applications to 1 per person.MFW#105 - 2015 Overpaid £8095 / 2016 Overpaid £6983.24 / 2017 Overpaid £3583.12 / 2018 Overpaid £2583.12 / 2019 Overpaid £2583.12 / 2020 Overpaid £2583.12/ 2021 overpaid £1506.82 /2022 Overpaid £2975.28 / 2023 Overpaid £2677.30 / 2024 Overpaid £2173.61 Total OP since mortgage started in 2015 = £37,286.86 2025 MFW target £1700, payments to date at April 2025 - £1712.07..0 -
I have current accounts with three UK and two spanish banks.
There are several advantages. The most obvious, if one banks online system is down or blocks a card for "my:rolleyes:" security I can use another.
It can be a little time consuming and tedious to shuffle funds arround."A nation's greatness is measured by how it treats its weakest members." ~ Mahatma Gandhi

Between my husband and I we have:
5 Halifax Rewards accounts - free £25 a month
3 A&L Accounts - 2 at 6% interest up to 2500 and 1 with 0% overdraft (also made around £300 out of them with switching bonuses and quidco cashback)
1 First Direct - for the 7% regular saver ISA and £100 switch bonus
1 Nationwide - for overseas and to take advantage of their frequent switching offers for existing customers0 -
One for wages to go into, one for petrol. That's it for me, apart from a myriad of savings accounts!
Our greatest weakness lies in giving up; always try just one more time0 -
I've got 3 accounts with the halifax
Got my main moneyback account, Used to make a killing when they gave you cash back every time you used it. Now its a £5 a month back
Got my Ultimate reward account for the benefits that you get with it, can go £300 in the overdraft with no interest charged. Handy if something comes out unexpected
Lastly got my visa electron card which is only used when I'm wanting to make a purchase online from a site i'm unsure of, just transfer the amount needed and nothing else lives in that account :rotfl:0 -
