Well i can't believe I did it my first day of no chocolate in about mumble mumble years:T

Hello my name is Bubby and I am a chocoholic, I have been clean for 1 day now:rotfl:

So todays challenge is again to not eat any chocolate. i am going to keep this as my challenge until I no longer crave it then move on to the next challenge. It is all about small steps with me so I am feeling very proud of myself. My will power seems to be great at the moment, I have stopped biting my nails about a month ago and they are lovely (this is the first time in my life apart from when I was a child that I haven't bitten my nails:eek:) I have been giving myself alot of praise as this seems to work for me:o

So remember peeps you CAN do it, put down those chocolate bars, step away from the naughty stuff and remember today is a new day!!!:rotfl:

Ooooohhhh I almost feel like I should be getting my daughter's cheerleading pompoms and chanting beside you. :rotfl:

    Bubby Bubby
    No more chubby

    :D

Seriously though, well done you! :T

SD, you can either join fitday.com which is free, it counts cals/carbs/fat etc and add all the ingredients in your hm foods as a 'custom food' ( next time its only one click to add again) and put the portion size you are having, all previous foods are quick to add als
Or, simply get a cal counter book and work out each ingredient in the item and divide by portion size, bit fiddly and you will need to keep a copy for future use or you'll be doing it all again.. very annoying i can tell you icon8.gif

Well done bubby, especially on the nail biting, they are soo easily accessible that its hard to stop, stopped biting mine years ago but i do tend to pick them when i'm stressed, and although i didnt think it was down to stress, i thought it was just a habit, when i had anti depressants off the doc when my dad died, my nails were beautiful, no biting, no picking!

I am trying cal counting, but i have to make wise choices, bread, but no white only seeded etc and maybe a small choc bar at lunchtime or a glass of wine in the eve, that way, no food is banned and maybe i can be more successful, especially when eating out with friends, which always starts off the slide down the slippery slope.

Alias, you do seem to be rather insightful, maybe i can come and lie on your couch and you can assess me :D
I'd just end up having another little nap tho probably while you droned on :rotfl:

I agree with everything you said though, when i'm fat, i dont even want to go out anywhere with friends, but when i'm slimmer, i'm raring to go as i feel better about myself.
I have adressed this and lost weight on several occasions, and felt great, so why cant i bl00dy keep it up.

Also, when i'm fatter, i refuse to buy any bigger clothes as i dont want to waste money on 'fat clothes' would rather wait and get some nice thin ones, but that just means i've never got s*d all nice to wear :(
My wardrobe is jam packed with lovely items that only fit me occasionaly.. pah

Well done! Just a thought - you might find rephrasing your goal helps you - turn "I will not eat chocolate" into the positively phrased "I will only snack on healthy things" or something similar. If you give your mind the idea of chocolate (which is what comes from the first sentance) then you're giving yourself a harder time. Forget the choc and leave it out of the sentance... your mind is very powerful and will do what you tell it... if you want it enough! Please let me know how you get on if you do give this ago :) I've found it always works for me.

I was relatively well bahaved last night - ate a massive salad with herby toms and cue and a sweet pot. And huge lumps of cheese... I also eat my sweet pots with bbq sauce, fresh chopped garlic and natural yoghurt... I am an odd one! the taste is devine though. Then took myself off to clean so I wasn't tempted by anymore foodies. Did have one small (teeny weeny) piece of toast with marmite in the evening which was good compared to the two pieces I wanted.

It's silly really, I know that it would make me happier to be a bit smaller and wear the clothes I like etc... so why do I sabotage myself? Wally :o It really is all in the mind. I knwo I'm not even hungry most of the time, I just like the entertainment of eating! If I get my goals aligned and on track mentally, I know I'll achieve - I've done it in otehr areas of my life so what the heck am I waiting for... weird that invisible force that holds you back when you want something. I guess I want to stay as I am more than I want to be slim. Pow! Alterations clearly need to be made :j

Waffle done! Well done everyone on various great acheivements, hope you are all enjoying a nice day today - nearly Fri! :D

I know what you mean I have had hypnotherapy before and cbt but it just didn't work for me, my mind refuses to think the way I try to make it (if that makes sense)

Your last paragraph is exactly how I feel, its like I sabotage myself. When I was slim I used to wonder why people who were overweight didn't just stop eating carp and exercise, only now being the fatty do I realise that it becomes a habit and a viscious circle, you feel bad for the weight so you eat to cheer yourself up:o Madness isn't it!!
I feel like I have had my lightbulb moment and am hoping to make it all a habit in the next few weeks before "that" time of the month when I know my will power is rubbish, so if its a habit and I have been good then I am hoping I will have forgotten about chocolate by then (who am I kidding;)) but for me this is the best time to start a "healthy eating regime".

Good luck everyone, baby steps are still a step in the right direction even if you only have a little bit less than normal:T

Shadows, good way of putting it, i like the entertainment of eating too, i have had periods in my life that i havent wanted to eat and just ate not to become unhealthy, maybe these are the types of folk that stay slim, they just dont particularly care about food, unfortunately for me, i mostly live to eat :D i like the social side of it.

Got me thinking now, when i was slim years ago, family holidays were about sightseeing and activities, finding food was just to keep you from getting hungry, but later holidays with a new partner became about sightseeing and treating ourselves really nice meals and wines in the evenings ( or lunchtime) it was a major requirement of the holiday.

    Its his bl00dy fault :D

Course it was Maz. *nods in support* I can just see the nosebag he forced you to wear now. :p:rotfl:

If it's any consolation, I only started eating Chinese because of my OH.

I only started drinking a lot because of mine.
The odd lager suited me, i now drink port with blue cheeses, wines with most meals, cant look at an italian meal without opening a nice full bodied red.

I have cut that out almost now though, so, as lots of my cals were saved for alcohol, i should be able to eat a hell of a lot more, and maybe stick to it.
