Hi all,
Foxy - I have PCOS too -snap! It's supposed to mean we are more likely to struggle to keep weight off but in my case its just coz I like cake!
Sarah999 -I looooove Lidl bucket'o'yoghurt. My lovely low carb chums (hello ) got me hooked and now I have it every morning with a few berries and sometimes a few seeds (not low carb but good for nutrients). It keeps me full til lunch, whereas toast used to give me the munchies by 11am and reaching for the chox. nomnomnom.

Me again...
Can anyone recommend a way to stop me munching rubbish in the evening? I seem to be ok during the day but as soon as I relax I just want to binge. My sister got taken into hospital last night (She's ok now but it was a scare) and my first thought was "I need chocolate!" Thing is, I won't just stop at one chocolatey chunk - the whole family sized bar would be finished off, then off to source something else.
Sigh.:("I am not a vegetarian because I love animals; I am a vegetarian because I hate plants." A. Whitney Brown0 -
The thing with PCOS is to do with blood sugar levels and that is why a low carb should help, I think we crave sugary foods more then normal
I think it's going to be hard but if I am prepared and organised it should be a piece of [STRIKE]cake[/STRIKE] meat!!:D0 -
On the other side of the coin, my slimmest times have been my happiest. I've had much more confidence, been more outgoing and joined in with a lot more things. I now have a body suitable for couch surfing and a level of confidence to match.
Whilst I do think about my old age and whether I'll be fit or not, by far and large my main concern is my life now and it's depressing how much of it is passing me by because of my weight. Which is why I simply don't understand why I can't just do something about it once and for all.
What is stopping you? Maybe it's better to think about ourselves in terms of fitness rather than weight. Why should your outer appearance make you feel less confident - you are still the same person? (I'm playing devil's advocate here cos I know what you mean) What are your good qualities? What makes people like you? I'll bet it's got nothing to do with your body shape.
Also, we have to accept that our body shape changes as we get older, our metabolic rate slows and we have to change our eating habits. But I do think it's not healthy to be so preoccupied with food, by continually focusing our attention on it and our failures, we are doomed to feel guilty and so it's a vicious circle.

Sorry just needed to post something else, my post count was on 666 and it freaked me out:eek::eek::eek:
:rotfl::rotfl:Lidl's big tub of greek yoghurt is v good at something like 2.3g of carbs per 100g. It's like Total but muchmuch cheaper. Mixed with some raspberries/blueberries and a bit of splenda if they're sour.
Not sure what facilites you have but I used to have this, with frozen berries -blast in the microwave for a minute to make them squidge out juice, add yog and mix, then some flaked almonds on top. Really nice. if you mix in some splenda its a bit like bakewell tart (only a bit...)
I lurrve that as my desset on lc, but i have freshly chopped brazils, microwaving the raspberries does make them go all juicy, eat yer heart out muller!!
Alias thanks for the calculator, i have the same formula written down somewhere, i used it to calculate my loss some time ago, i was walking 4 hours a week then and i was allowed 200 more cals for that so was easy to stick to and it worked
For a while
If i'd stuck to all the diets i've ever tried i'd be bl00dy invisible by now..0 -

If only
I got a huuge tub online really cheap, will have to see if i can find where i got it from and let you know.
Anyone got any good ideas for what I can have for my breakfast that is low carb?
I eat at my desk (tut tut) and have been eating a nutri grain bar which obv isn't low carb so need a replacement? It literally needs to be quick and easy for me to to as well and not something that is cooked?
I am stumped
Cold boiled eggs, cold pre cooked sausages, lc shake, small handful of brazils, couple of H&B crispbreads spread with either pate, cheese spread or butter and low sugar jam.0 -
morning
nice and sunny this morning , although i dont feel that way as I have been up all night with toothache
sausages for breakfast with lcarb crackers and butter and some tomatoes
big tidy up today as Dmum and stepdad coming tomorrow for the weekend , that means lots of food and not necessarily lc0 -
Good morning everyone:)
Well i can't believe I did it my first day of no chocolate in about mumble mumble years:T
Hello my name is Bubby and I am a chocoholic, I have been clean for 1 day now:rotfl:
So todays challenge is again to not eat any chocolate. i am going to keep this as my challenge until I no longer crave it then move on to the next challenge. It is all about small steps with me so I am feeling very proud of myself. My will power seems to be great at the moment, I have stopped biting my nails about a month ago and they are lovely (this is the first time in my life apart from when I was a child that I haven't bitten my nails:eek:) I have been giving myself alot of praise as this seems to work for me:o
So remember peeps you CAN do it, put down those chocolate bars, step away from the naughty stuff and remember today is a new day!!!:rotfl:
Whoa I am a bit too positive today:o (I was literally climbing the walls last night)0 -
Yay! well done Bubby :j
I have a problem with chocolate too but atm i have cravings for bread
Yesterday i had a sandwich and then garlic bread later and boy was i bloated.
Going to try having some today but less, I am making hm pizza for tea and i`ve made the same amount of dough but DH will be having one with a thickish crust and mine will be very thin. Rather than avoiding it altogether i shall see if i can get away with a small amount every couple of days.
Today for brekkie i shall have yogurt, not sure about dinner yet but the pizza will be for tea.
Not sure about snacks either. May chop a carrot and make garlic mayo but i only have the full fat mayo in so will have to watch the amounts.
According to the calorie counter i need 1039 cals per day to lose 2lb per week. Now i`ve never counted cals before so does anyone have any tips?
For example how do i go about finding how many are in all the hm stuff that i make? I really don`t want to have to buy stuff that i can make at home so any ideas would be fab.
SDPlanning on starting the GC again soon0 -

I don't really know why excess weight = less confidence. I suspect it's partly because of the way others view you generally and partly because extra weight by it's very definition, makes you less than you could be, if that makes sense?
I don't think I am the same person fat as I am when I'm thin. The thin me is happy, more outgoing, less prone to negative feelings. The fat me gets depressed more easily, and feels less 'able'. I used to be a strong person both emotionally and physically, I could tackle allsorts and be successful whereas now I get easily tired and tend to give up on things. So instead of experiencing positives, all my negatives are being re-inforced.
People on the whole tend to like me because I'm friendly, loyal and have a fierce sense of fairness. They trust me to have their back or always do the right thing. Which is all fine except all of those qualities are 'giving' qualities. Human nature means you either gravitate towards people who are similar to you or who are able to supply your needs. I think I'm in the latter category a lot of the time tbh.
Also, we have to accept that our body shape changes as we get older, our metabolic rate slows and we have to change our eating habits. But I do think it's not healthy to be so preoccupied with food, by continually focusing our attention on it and our failures, we are doomed to feel guilty and so it's a vicious circle.
I really do agree with you on this point. When I wasn't as overweight, I was more relaxed and focused less on it. It's very difficult to change a mindset which has developed strongly over many years though.
