This thread is working wonders.0 -
Sorry me again
With reference to the entertainment of eating, myself and a likeminded friend went for lunch last year and it stick in my mind that she said (after a lovely salmon starter and fillet steak lunch with lots of good wine and great chat ) she was full and couldnt eat another thing but would like to be able to throw it up and start again as the experience was so enjoyable.
She is fat now too and struggling to stick to a diet :think:0 -
According to the calorie counter i need 1039 cals per day to lose 2lb per week. Now i`ve never counted cals before so does anyone have any tips?
For example how do i go about finding how many are in all the hm stuff that i make? I really don`t want to have to buy stuff that i can make at home so any ideas would be fab.
SD
Please be careful hun, I'm positive that's not enough to keep you healthy. I think the min is 1200 a day, any less than that and you won't be doing your body any good.
There are tons of calorie websites out there, I just googled a handful, found out what was in the basic stuff and from there I have a rough idea of what's in the stuff I make from scratch. I'm not hugely adventurous with main courses so once I've worked out about 10 meals I'm sorted for a while
Check for portion sizes on things you do buy though - often they'll emblazon the front of the box with "49 cals!" and then you find out that's for about a quarter of the piece you'd usually have!
I find cal counting really easy once you're in the swing of things and you can usually guestimate when you're eating out.0 -
I know, i laughed out loud at that, and i could just picture her ( although i've never seen her) in a mini ra ra skirt , shaking pom poms and jumping about and singing bubby bubby no more chubby repeatedly :rotfl:
Now now that would NOT be a nice sight *shudders at the thought*
I too enjoy the social aspect of eating, eating out with friends, nice wine (esp red) with some nice cheeseboard at the end ummmmmmm
NO NO NO very naughty once we all get to our goals we can have the occassional treat without worrying:)0 -
Christ how fat am i, i'm allowed 1377 to lose 1lb a week,
or 1651 if i get off my butt just a bit
Thats about what i worked it out at last time, walked 1hr, three times a week, four if i had time and lost quite a bit, and was drinking too, so should be easier now, 1651 is quite a lot of food.0 -

Mazzers - Thanks i shall have a look at fitday later,
Alexnikov - I think i shall have a look for some more info re the cals, i just input me details in the site and thats what it came back with, maybe i`m even more blobby than i realised
Some of my problems are :- I love foodI like to cook, i eat when i`m upset or angry and at certain times of the month i just stuff my face none stop
I do eat for the sake of it too but once i start i can`t seem to stop myself, i remember waking up in the middle of the night some years ago starving. I went downstairs and cooked a whole box of 20 fish fingers and took them back upstairs and ate them in bedI can`t seem to stop at small amounts just to stop the hunger pangs and eat everything
Not touched fish fingers since though
I ate my yogurt earlier and it was lovely, home made with dried fruit that had been left in for a while so it soaked up some liquid and made the yog really thick. Now my tum is making loud noises and saying feed me!
Hope its quiet at w*rk later then i can peep at a few sites and learn some good things
SDPlanning on starting the GC again soon0 -
I forgot about alcohol!!!!
Why do I always think liquid doesn't count?? I love coffee and when I go out I can only drink lager as wine goes straight to my head. Lager is the worst for carbs isn't it?0 -
Lager and cider are to be avoided at all costs. If you're being good that is.
Maz....I was about to 'oi!' Bubby just there so just as well you posted. :rotfl:Herman - MP for all!0 -
Typical!! What on earth can I drink instead of lager then??0
