ljaneyr, why not get scales for your room, or go to boots once a week to weigh.
Fill up on low cal/ low carb veg,
I'm on a mission now to find a choccy bar that has the lowest cals, it used to be milky way years ago or a curly wurly but i'm sure there's more choice now. I wll be having a bar in the evening as my treat from now on.
Alex, have you got any tips for us?0 -
PM me if you want to chat about menus and stuff - I've been on 1200 cals a day since August and am nearly 6 stone lighter
:j:jYAY!! Well done, thats a fantastic result.
I shall definitely be sending you a pm soon re menus.
Thanks for offering to help

Hey can I join?
I'm not hugely overweight but it is a problem in my family. I lost some weight last summer but didn't reach my target and since then I've basically put it all back on. Now my jeans are all really tight and uncomfortable. I keep making half-hearted attempts to cut down on sweet stuff etc but it's doing nothing and I always end up eating rubbish again.
I dread the word diet because my mum has been on one for her whole life and is still really overweight so I'm thinking of trying to eat 3 meals and 2 snacks a day. However I have done this today and I'm waiting for my dinner to be ready and I'm starving, I feel like I will eat loads because I'm so hungry.
To make it harder we don't have scales in my house which makes me feel like I can't have any real measure of any weight loss which is a bit demotivating.
Any advice, help, words of encouragement greatly appreciated, thanks in advance,
Lx
Honestly I think you are better off NOT having scales. Having watched my weight fluctuate by 3lbs this week (and I've been sensible with portions and exercise) I find scales very de-motivating.
How about breaking down your meals into smaller meals so eating 5-6 times a day (but smaller portions) - this way you're not necessarily going for long periods without food.

Alex, is it the first time you've ever dieted?
They say its harder to lose weight after yo yo dieting, and i'm hoping you are going to prove this theory wrong so fingers crossed as there may be hope for me yet
Also, why only 1200, is it that your allowance come down as you've lost?0 -

Eh? Never heard that before. It's a drink I've drunk for many years and I'm pretty sure I've never cried on it. It's whisky that makes people morose isn't it?
Gin is notorious for making you depressed.
Makes me very happy
