Hi, Is anyone out there doing Rosemary Conely? I don't think I could cut out the carbs like most of you guys, although I do try and avoid having them with dinner about 3 days a week, just at lunch and breakfast. Well done all of you. I'm just going low fat, under 5% and watching calories and portion sizes and alas no alcohol. Been going about 5 weeks and have lost about 11-12lb, another 12lb to go. I seem to have hit a plateau. Someone at work was saying that you shouldn't start the clock ticking until you have lost 10lb as that is just glycagon being lost and it is only after that that fat is being used. Has anyone heard of this as it would make sense about me hitting a brick wall. I'm also doing exercise about 3 times a week, cardio, swimming etc. Before I did nothing and ate rubbish but now feel pedaling fast but getting nowhere!
Keep it up everyone and drink lots of water, I know boring. Have you discovered Ben and Jerrys Low Fat Frozen Yogurt, Cherry and chocolate, its yummy! I weigh it out to know cals I'm having.Debt Free Wannabee No - 12510 -

Hi, dont think anyone is, you are the first.
Welcome and well done on the loss so far.
I've never heard of the 10lb rule thingy, maybe someone else has tho??
I lost 13lb last year and i'm sure it wasn't only 3lb of lard as i was much slimmer, could water really be that fattening? :rotfl:0 -
sweetserendipity wrote: »I haven't tried the Aldi crackers I bought yet, I do like the H&B ones though - hannoja, they are GG Scandinavian crispbreads, currently buy one, get one half price at H&B. They are very high fibre & you do have to go careful with them & drink lots of water when you eat them but they are useful if you're 'congested' iyswim??
The Aldi crackers are about half as much fibre. I'm thinking of having one of each every day instead of my usual 2 (sometimes 4) GGs to cut costs a little bit  It's great being able to have some crackers when you're lcing though, I usually have butter & cheese on mine.
Cheers m'dearsThey have 'Slimming World' on the top right of the packet too..? They're not bad are they.. I had a couple with butter and cheese on too yesterday. Had one with some peanut butter on earlier (Peanut Butter & Co.: natural stuff).. bit dry and strange, but didn't dare put jam on it.. Didn't realise about water.. washed it down with milk..
I'm finding this a bit too easy.. Mustn't be doing it right.. _pale_ I've dug out an Atkins book and a 'Kensington' book, and was kinda hoping to read the important bits of the Atkins one before tomorrow.. hmm... so far, not so good.. still got some of those ketosticks things somewhere.. wonder if they'll still work..
I find it hard to do things without understanding them, so I've been reading bits here and there about how our bodies deal with food.. my current thinking, from what I've read, is that our bodies need to process the food themselves.. if we eat carp that's already been processed, it messes up the workings.. puts a spanner in the works, so to speak..
Uhm... /ramble
P.S. Interested in that Ben and Jerry's Froz. yog.! I keep looking for frozen yog. but haven't found any.. doubt it's great for low-carbing, but I'm still gonna try and find it0 -
Doing pretty good atm, hopefully i'll actually lose something.
Turned out nice weatherwise after all, went to the coast for a nice (if short ) walk.
Docs again tomorrow, more blood tests, i'm not a hypochondriac.. honest, they've requested i go
Hospital Friday, finally i'll find out whats happening with this fibroid!

Well i`m sat twiddling my thumbs and clock watching until home time, i found some sausages in M&S so i`ve cooked em at work and i`m taking them home to have as snacks
Hannoja - Milk isn`t good when you are low carb, you can have cream in coffee (decaf) but milk is bad.
Alias - Bucky is verrry handsome, doubt that my little black cat would think so lol
Sweet - Those cracker pizzery thingies sound lush, i`ve never bothered with crackers when lcing but may just have to give those a try soon. Thanks for the idea.
Sistercas - If you could ask your sis for the recipe next time that you see her i`d appreciate it, i lurve wine thats got a nice kick to it
DH is away until tomorrow night but i`m not stumbling around the garden at midnight with the hosepipe, the plants can wait until tomorrow, i had thought about watering the ones in the green house and taking the torch with me but there might be "webs" Hmmm i`d forgotten about the plants when he told me he would be away, he usually does the watering when i`m on the late shift.
I`ve eaten rather a few too many salted cashews today - very moreish, i`ve hidden the rest of the bag and they will be saved for another day. Think i shall have a couple of sausages now and then i can start putting bits and bobs away and hoping that the hands on the clock move faster
SDPlanning on starting the GC again soon0 -
forgot to say earlier sweet well done on the weight loss :T you are doing really well, i seem to be losing the same few pounds over and over
Well, actually ... I'm losing the stone that I put on over the last few weeks so it probably doesn't really count!!
I can't remember the 'lightest' weight I've been since I joined this/the low-carb thread but I went into 'overweight' bmi instead of 'obese'. I can't believe I blew it & ended up 'obese' again. God I hate that word!!
i think i need to re-read my atkins book to see if it will motivate me
That's what I've been doing with the IPD book, I just keep looking through it for inspiration & to see how they felt on day 5, 13 etc. Also looking through the recipes on the lc thread has reminded me of how nice the food can be when you're lcing.
mazzers, good luck at the docs tomorrow, you will weigh less because of all the blood you've been giving them, bl00dy vampires!! :rotfl:
Welcome skint, well done on the lbs lost so far. If you only have a bit left to lose it does become harder, apparently
hanno, I love the Peanut Butter & Co peanut butter, it's really gloopy & nutty!!I must admit I've never tried it on the GG crispbreads, I don't fancy it tbh, I was put off when I tried the crispbreads with houmous when I was doing low-GI & I thought they tasted bl00dy awful!! Really like them with butter & cheese though.
Do you buy the lactofree milk?? Tis lower carb than ordinary & tastes just as good, more expensive though.
I made a lush chilli tonight, best one I've made for a while & there's enough for tomorrow, woohoo no cooking for me!! :rotfl: Had it with dry grated cauli (as in no cream, it was still cooked) & it was lovely, glad alias told us about that.
alias, Bucky looks very much at home on your shed roof & lol at the poop!! We had a young blackbird fly into our house via the open patio door this afternoon & that pooped on the floor before we managed to shoo it outside again. Ahhhh birds, don't ya just love 'em!! :rotfl:
Right, time for bed methinks, see you tomorrow.0 -
Sorry elfen, forgot to say well done on your lbs off!! Will be interesting to see if it's more on your own scales :j0

Bad, bad, bad today, had ham, egg n chips for dinner and crumble for pud ~ with cream though.
But I will be back on the treadmill tomorrow. On the upside, I've not touched rice, pasta or the evil that is the utterly delicious bread!I ave a dodgy H, so sometimes I will sound dead common, on occasion dead stupid and rarely, pig ignorant. Sometimes I may be these things, but I will always blame it on my dodgy H.
Sorry, I'm a bit of a grumble weed today, no offence intended ... well it might be, but I'll be sorry.0 -

low fat is bad for you, its important to eat essential fats and oils as your body can not make the nutrients you get from them (omega oils etc), mono and poly unsaturated fats also reduce your cholesterol level. Avoid cholesterol and NEVER eat trans fats.
when you have been overeating your glycogen store (capacity depends on how much muscle mass you have) is full but there is also the possibility that your bowels will be fuller as well, super morbidly obese people have been recorded as having 40lbs of material in there bowels. So when you loose weight you loose some water from the glycogen store, you reduce the material stored in your bowels but you will also burn fat as well as you have a calorie deficit (your glycogen store is only enough for 1 to 2 days energy max)0 -

there is growing research that is showing that over processed food is absorbed by our bodies far faster than "whole" foods. You then have the issues of high fat, sugar and salt which can tigger addictive chemical responses in the brain (often deliberetly engineered to do this) and then theres a tonne of chemical preservative and flavouring enhancers....0
