You have to go cold turkey. That's the only way to stop the cravings and get your hunger under control.

If you're still craving carby things then you're probably still eating too many. Once you get past the first few days (3 or 4 usually) then you'll find things are much easier.

I've just restarted today and aim to keep my carb intake to 20g per day for the first few weeks at least. I can honestly say I dont feel hunger once I'm in the swing of things. Do you know even roughly how many carbs you eat daily?

100% correct, took me about 2 weeks to detox myself from processed food and over eating carbs, felt 100 times better after thou

not had a craving in 24 weeks now

as for snacks, i like waitrose cassava crisps, the chilli ones are amazing (cassava is low GI)

and dry roast soy beans (high fibre and protein)

No, I'll giv e you a run down of what I had to eat today:

some crisps (shame), a nibble of a cake that DD gave me, chicken kebab BBQ'd with onions and peppers, a pork steak, beef curry ~ beef, onions, peppers, spices,

But feel peckish, it's the time of day I think, toastie jam or cheesey toast is so easy to do for a quick nibble.

Sorry GT but no wonder you're still having a hard time and craving food/carbs. :) Even a little bad carb will set you off wanting more.

Download a carb counter such as ...http://uk.atkins.com/program/interactive-tools/carb-counter

It will help you get an idea of what you can actually have for 20g of carb a day. You wont always need to count carbs, once you've got an idea of what's what, you'll just kinda know after that.

As for snacks, I mix up a tin of tuna with some mayo (big difference in carb counts per brand so alway check the label - I use Hellman's full fat stuff) and have it in the fridge for snacking emergencies. I spread some on either the Aldi Savour Bake crispbreads or the Holland and Barratt bran ones (can't remember the name of them offhand). Or I have cold sliced chicken and make wraps....slice of chicken, thin spread of mayo, little shredded lettuce and small strips of pepper or cucumber and roll it all up. You may have to spear it with a cocktail stick to keep it rolled but mine are never on the plate long enough to worry about that. :D

Well i dont wanna blow my trumpet and fail again.

Just doing things the wrong way round.
Been successful for a few days, shake for brekkie, ham salad in work, then anything reasonable for tea (including carbs)
Now i know you should have carbs first thing if your having them, but i cant stop then.
It has kept me focussed during the day knowing i've got something nice to look forward to, and also something quick i can rustle up.

So a treat is still only 80% choc or berries and yogurt and carbs are still lowish.

Along the lines of SW red days, but saving the niceties for the evening.
Seeing how i go, then will introduce fruit late afternoon too.

I mean.. if you've only had shake and salad all day, surely you can have a nice evening meal??
    We shall see.

    Morning :hello:

Good luck with your new woe, mazzers :)

What happened with the duplicate posts on the last page?? Thought I was seeing things.

Well, my wine weight has arrived :( I'm up over a lb this morning. Really should stop weighing myself but I just can't resist it :o

    Food for today:
    B - cheese & mushroom omelette
L - 2 lc crispbreads with butter & cheese, garlic sausage
    D - to be decided??

No rasps left so no protein shake for me today :( I do like having them first thing but I don't fancy the peanut butter this morning. Oh well, off to make my omelette

My trouble is if i dont have what i fancy, i'll crave it til i do.
My ex was really easy going with food, would eat whatever i'd put (as long as he liked it of course) so are the boys.
I'm not tho, when i was younger, i had to let my mum know what to cook or i'd be stroppy, wouldnt eat a roast dinner if i fancied a curry, or vice versa, you get the picture.. spoilt brat :D

So.. yesterday after work i really fancied a ham salad sandwich, and once i'd had one with some picky bits of chicken etc on the side i was happy and didnt eat anything else :)

Am hoping i've hit the nail on the head this time.

Why doesn't that surprise me? :rotfl:

Fingers crossed. Maybe a new more relaxed approach will be just what's gonna swing it for you.

I use this one, good value for money and keeps me full-ish til lunch.
Mix mine with water, wasnt fussy on the peanut butter one but the berry ones are fab, keep meaning to try some ground linseeds in one too (think sweet liked this) to stay fuller longer.

Oh and i use vanilla but reviews say the choc and strawb are nicest.
