Not even going to pretend to lc today, head just isn't in the right place.
Hugs Alias hun:A You sound super stressed!
Have you tried using Paul McKenna's technique? It sounds like you have a very bad relationship with food and use it as comfort, which is exactly what i was like.
It takes away the stress around food and its really nice to enjoy eating again. I would highly recommend giving it a go. What have you got to lose? The trouble with the world is that the stupid are cocksure and the intelligent are full of doubt.Bertrand Russell0 -
Eric, the cauliflower pizza is delish, in fact if it was easier to make I would prefer it over normal pizza.
The thing is if we ate normal pizza I would be craving more food after it, I know I would but the cauli pizza filled me right up and I had nothing else to eat after it.
in my experience most ladies think pizza express sell pizza rather than the actual dry naked crackers they actually sell :rotfl:0 -
Tell me what to do then. I'm serious. Tell me what you did to break the cycle. Exactly what did you eat, exactly what exercise did you do? I'll try and copy your way to see if it helps me too. Right now I can't see a way out of this.
we need to break the addictive cycle of some foods, detox the chemical crap out the body and start to get the insulin levels stable again
this means a 2 week period of pretty strict self control but after that it gets very easy, and i think most people can focus for 2 weeks
you want to avoid anything processed, especially processed carbs plus any foods that create chemical or hormone dependencies. This is critical in helping the body get back in balance. These are:
High Fat foods, never eat trans fats, avoid cholesterol as much as possible, stick to poly and mono unsat fats/oils (try to eat oily fish 3 times a week)
High Sugar foods (HI GI, and anything with refined carbs, we just
process them far to fast, potatoes and basmati rice are fine)
Cheese (Hi fat and contains opiates!!, low fat cottage cheese etc is probably ok, i dont eat it so have not tested it)
Chocolate (Its addictive property's are well documented and its high fat and sugar ..)
Caffeine (A difficult one for some people but it restricts the artery's and creates insulin spikes... if you drink a lot your going to get a headache but that should be a hint that its not good for you)
Salt (there's just no need to add any salt in anything we get plenty naturally from food, its sooo bad for you, it also makes you retain water = weight!!)
Stick as closely as you can to 33/33/33% carb/protein/fat and try to get all your fat from healthy poly and mono unsat fats. Food Diary's are critical and this is backed up with research, how can you know what you are eating if you have no record. Its worth sticking to set daily calorie intake as well (cals in + cals out mantra)
As to what to eat, first off we seam to have some preconceived ideas as to what we eat for each meal, carbs for breakfast (cereal / toast), a sandwich for lunch and meat and two veg for dinner. Why should we eat like this? We can eat anything we want for any meal, cold meats for breakfast are common in parts of europe and in asia they eat curry.
There's a wealth of healthy whole foods out there, eat the ones you like when you like, try to have some protein with each meal for its appetite suppressing capability's but apart from that go for it but just try to stick to 33/33/33 and a sensible daily cal intake
I eat cold lean meats for breakfast with some fruit. For lunch rather than having a sandwich i have the lean meat with a salad or i replace the bread with nuts for the healthy oils. For dinner I eat simple but normal type meals, lean meat, oily fish, basmati rice (lowest GI white rice), sweet potatoes, potatoes (as wedges in the actifry with rapeseed oil) and lots of different veggies. Generally I try to keep it as simple as possible since that would be close to how we would eat naturally as we evolved, but if your a good cook theres no reason you can not make your own food starting from whole ingredients.
I eat very well, I am never hungry or have cravings (past the first 2 week detox) and infact in the last 22 weeks I have been "bad" once whilst i had a virus and ate 100 cal of soya beans
eating like this has brought my insulin down from 10+ to 4-5 and my cholesterol down to 4.30 -
Well i just weighed myself.... And i've lost 4lbs in just under 2 weeks:T Plus i usually weigh myself first thing in the morning before i hop in the shower - i was fully clothed but without shoes on this time so it may even be a little more than 4lbs:beer:The trouble with the world is that the stupid are cocksure and the intelligent are full of doubt.Bertrand Russell0

Yaay, well done G&B!! :j
Well I didn't have the butter chicken tonight as it was too late & I was too tired to contemplate making it by the time I got home. I had 'chicken breast fillet wrapped in parma ham stuffed with cheddar & gruyere cheese & green beans' so thank you M&S!! :rotfl: It was lovely & only 4.8g carbs for half a pack. Had it with the grated creamy cauli as I could just about manage to make that.
I'm looking forward to my wine tonightIt's my official weigh day tomorrow though, so hope half a bottle of red (that's if I can manage that much) doesn't stall me

Hi peeps
bit of a late one for me today as the pc at work wouldn`t let me log in for some reason.
Another good day for me, brekkie was bacon, sausage and buttered scramblies.
Dinner was cheese & salami and a pepperami
tea was or rather is as i`m just eating it two chicken thighs with a piece of salmon and a huge blob of mayo YUM!
Well done on your loss G&B :j
Sweet - Good luck with your weigh in!
I`m off to finish my grub and to have a couple of squares of choccy for dessert and then bed.
Have a good evening peeps.
SDPlanning on starting the GC again soon0 -
Sweet - Good luck with your weigh in!
Ta, it was a good one
Morning :hello:
Where has everyone else sneaked off to??
Well, I got weighed this morning & I'm now 1386, so exactly 6lbs of bloat off in one week :j I know it's mostly water, but who cares!! :rotfl: I do feel 'slimmer' already
I could only manage one glass of merlot last night, I'm such a lightweight when I'm lcing!! Will be forcing myself to have more tonight though as we're having a BBQ.
B - piggies in blankets??
L - 2 lc crispbreads with butter & cheese, soup, cold meat
D - BBQ quarter pounder burger with cheese & coleslaw, beef frying steak (hope that's ok to BBQ??)
Wine, wine & more wine
Would normally make chicken/courgette/onion/mush/cherry tom kebabs for a BBQ but the steaks were whoopsied & I really want to try them. Hmm, might actually have the kebabs for dinner during the week, cooked in the oven, now that I've mentioned them
I haven't had anything to eat yet, amazingly I'm not hungry (this never happens to me!!). Need to ask hubby if he'll eat some piggies in blankets cos I'm not just making them for me. If not, I'll have a protein shake & maybe a cheese omelette later if I'm peckish.
Have a good weekend everyone :wave:0 -

Sweet i'm a little confused by what you put in pale writing? It seems to be an awfully large number!
