    Karen, a few thoughts.

First at your weight and height you are officially only six pounds overweight (acording to BMI tables). So it will be a bit of a slog, as those with less weight to lose find it harder.

How long have you been trying? What exactly have you lost? I';m not familiar with Slimming world, but one thought that I had is that if it is very low calorie you may have pushed your body into starvation mode, which means it will hang on for grim life to every extra ounce, especially if you are full on at the gym, which it sounds like you are.

It's funny how perceptions are different. I'm the same height as you and 2 lb heavier, yet I'm thrilled because I've lost three stone to get here! Post some menus if you like and we;ll have a look..

Well, I was a woolly mammoth a while back!! :rotfl:

    Morning :hello:

Up a bit too bright & early this morning but it's lovely & sunny so I don't mind. We had a big thunder & lightning storm last night (apparently, I was snoring by that time & didn't hear a thing!! :rotfl:) so everything feels fresher. It was too hot for me yesterday, mazzers I don't know how you could work in the garden attacking brambles (or were they attacking you?!) when it's that hot, you must be mad!!

I finished off the bottle of wine last night & I was legless!! :rotfl: Alcohol really affects me when I'm lcing!! I matched every glass of vino with a glass of water & I must say, I feel absolutely fine this morning :D Peckish though, so you might be right mazzers  Will make sure I have plenty of lc stuff to eat.

I'll post my menu later, it was supposed to be butter chicken tonight cos I've still got chopped tomatoes & yoghurt open in the fridge that need using up, but hubby needs an early dinner so I dunno??

    Anyway, see you later

    morning :D

just back from 2 days in London with Dd1, had a fantastic time but in 2 days i put on 5lbs  gutted - I didnt go mad either , had a cooked breakfast ( no bread/ croissants) had burger and chips :o but took the bread off the burger , had a mackeral salad, all i can think is that it was the family sized bag of revels at the theatre :o:o lol and maybe the odd glass of vino

oh well back to it ( i was going to have a glass of champagne at the champagne bar in st pancras but it was £15 a glass )
did loads of walking though you would think that would compensate for the revels

sweet well done on the weight loss :T

breakfast : slice of ham 1 sausage and 3 cherry toms
    lunch : not sure
tea: bbq sausage , steak , salad, coleslaw , fruit kebabs

Not my thing, but easy to get into, my boy paid for it so he'll be using it. maybe i'll get one for son no3 tho :)

Not so nice today, sunny and occasional clouds, got the garden to finish so at least it'll be cooler.
Got some small thorns embedded in my hands that'll need digging out later...ouch!

For someone who doesn't like lying/sitting in the sun, (i'd rather sit in the shade) i tolerate it very well as long as i'm busy.
    strange.

Hi I started at 11 st 2lb so have lost some but it really is a slog.I suppose it took a while to put it on so it won't come off overnight!! Anyway a typical day would look like:
Breakfast - Crunchy Bran cereal with fruit and wither mik or fat free yogurt
Lunch - ham salad with low fat plain cottage cheese, followed by fruit.
Dinner - typically spag bol or other pasta meal, or grilled meat/fish with either salad or vegetables.
Snaks - fruit and/or fat free yog and/or alpen light cereal bar.
Treats in the week are sometimes a small chocolate bar or in this weather an ice cream usually once a week.

So all in all not bad I don't think and I am certainly not going hungary. But any thoughts would be welcome.

    Thanks again x

    Afternoon gang

too hot here  i think i`m going to melt!

Got home from work just in time for the footie, haven`t watched the last part of the second half tho cos its depressing, i`m not a big fan but i like to watch the England games.

I could kill for an ice cream but i`m drinking lots of water instead, had brekkie earlier of bacon, sausage and buttered scramblies, dinner was cheese and salami with a couple of pepperamis and tea later will be mixed fish pie with grated cauli on top.

Just been wondering what to put in for a sauce, i`ve no cream left but have some out of date creme fraiche in the back of the fridge - provided its not growing yet will that do dỳa think?

Mazzers - those hammocks look mighty comfortable, i had visions of one strung up between two trees :D

Think i`m going to have a little nap as i`m bushed.

    Catch up later!

Planning on starting the GC again soon :p

Hi all, haven't read all the posts, got some catching up to do. We've been like wee weathermen up here today, blistering sun, pelting rain, blistering sun, pelting rain, blistering....well you get the picture.

Got half the shed up again in it's new space, then quickly had to throw a tarpaulin over it when it started chucking it. 15 minutes later we were out in the sun doing more and that's the way it's been all day. Just got the last bit of the roofing felt on and it's pouring again so having a tea break before I put on the edging strips, hopefully by then it will have stopped raining again. :)

Got the acupuncturist again tomorrow, will be embarrassed to admit to a real live person (rather than you lot) that I've done nothing but eat bad things all week. Got a feeling it's going to be like this until after the insurance chap has been out on Wed. :( I worry for Scotland, me.

What did I say, rain has stopped.....gotta go, catch up later. :D
Herman - MP for all! :)
  • sister, the weight will be fluid & will be off again in no time, don't worry about it. Glad you had a lovely couple of days away, tis nice to get away :D

mazzers, make sure you get those thorns out :naughty:, have you had a recent tetanus jag?? You do have to be really careful about things like that.

Karen, your diet looks fine to me, I can't suggest anything that hasn't already been mentioned though. Maybe portion size creeping up?? Just keep plodding away, don't give up now.

Sunny, I always use creme fraiche in my fish pie, tis lovely. I use a Jamie Oliver recipe & there's no pre-cooking (apart from the cauli mash), just mix the fish with the creme fraiche, add some grated cheese, chillis if you like them, grated celery, grated carrot if you're not being strict (but I know you are) & make sure everything is mixed well. Cover with cauli mash & bung in oven. Tis so easy & tastes lush.
