Aw Maz, sorry. I completely forgot you were getting 'done' today. Too full of my own rubbish.

Do the meds sort it out if they are the right dosage? (By that I mean, does it settle to completely normal)

Look on the bright side...you got your arms back. :rotfl:

I did have high BP at one point and was supposed to go back to get checked again but never went.

Gone now, went at 12pm, my arm is still red and tender.
Think i should have had the large cuff, my arms are huge now :(
BP is still high so my meds will have to be adjusted again.
Alias, surprised you havent got high bp, or have you?

I didnt know i did until someone brought a monitor into work, mine was so high she thought it was broke, went to the pharmacy and they confirmed the readings
phoned the surgery and they said come over now!! unheard of.

Crikey, i`ve not had mine checked for years
Good that you found out about it and got it checked out.

Hope your arm feels better soon, i`ve got a normal cuppa :p i`m allowing myself one a day and the rest is fruit tea or water, just spent some time in the garden and i`ve overheated so i`ve drunk tons of water - my tum is like a half full hot water bottle atm :rotfl:

I'll put it on my 'to do' list daisy...along with the smear I never got done and the optician check I ignored.

(Although the eye test has just jumped the queue a bit as I am now struggling to read the labels on sauce jars and the like.......see..... tis not my fault if I get the carb count wrong. ;):D)

Alias unless you were stressed on that day, high bp doesn't just go away, i was so shocked at mine as i had no symptoms, normal is 120/80 mine was 202/ 120.. shocking, thats why we thought it was broke.

As for meds getting it normal, it's trial and error, my friends is high and hers never seems to get within normal range and she's slim, but her doc seems unconcerned.
Mine was normal when i was in bed in hospital after the heart attack, coz of no stress from this lot probably, not been normal since.
My friend has three crazy sons causing hers i'm sure!

Eye tests are health checks too, even if you dont need spex, one of our locums has identified cancer twice in patients!!

Sometimes we women martyr ourselves too much and end up making our lives more difficult than they should be. I'm not saying that you do, but I think there's a tiny tendency inside most women to wish that the men in our lives would just know what we want and need, and then we get angry when it doesn't happen. You've just got to ask. At least that way they know where they are, and haven't got the excuse of 'oh, I didn't know you wanted that...'

Brilliant. You've just summed me up to a tee!! :o
  • alias, your post about your son brought tears to my eyes :( I hope you are feeling calmer now.
It sounds to me like you're suffering from stress & I think you need to get yourself to the Dr. It may be hormonal (if you think you're peri-menopausal, I remember you've mentioned that before). It may be things getting too much for you, in which case you might need a little 'help'.
What about the break away with OH you mentioned a while back?? Could that still happen?? I think some time away from home would be really good for you, some stress-free 'me' time. Even if you don't want to go away with your OH, go away yourself or with friends but get away somewhere!! Tis an order!! :naughty:
Honestly, you need to do something before you completely flip :(

I've ate and drunk loads tonight, I am a barrage balloon. I am so full I am uncomfortable yet I'm still going. That's not normal behaviour. I require therapy. :( And pricked with a pin ... I need to deflate. I'm drinking cider and it's not even very nice yet I'n still drinking it. I'd be a good project for a trainee psychologist I thgink. :D
