I feel sick. I've just had a chap on the phone who says he's a loss adjuster and is coming out to see my kitchen.

Tha damage is plain to see but I already know he's going to tell me the ceiling can be patched rather than replaced. And it doesn't help that the rest of the place is a building site either and our garden is the same. He's gonna take one look and think this is the way we live through choice (well we do but only till we get things finished). Then he's gonna think it wont matter if the ceiling isn't done absolutely perfectly and he'll recommend it's patched and if the join shows, then tough.

And don't tell me I'm too cynical, insurance companies do all they can to cry off from paying out. :(

Hey guys, everyone seems like they are on good tracks with their diets at the moment.:T

I am trying to maintain and it is not working, lost another 1lb this morning after eating a mars bar!!! and a packet of frazzles during the match yesterday!! How?

I seriously don't want to lose anymore weight - i'll fall down grids at this rate (I can't believe I am moaning about this, but OH says I have no curves now and that is not sexy) but I don't want to start eating bread again cos I won't stop if I do.

Well, hopefully put some on this weekend when I go shopping, as I will be out all day I will have to have my lunch out and no doubt that won't be very low carb./

Alias - let us know how you get on with the insurance bloke and hopefully you get a decent one (if one exists).

Off to go find the butter chicken recipe, sounds delish.

I'm sooooooo angry. :mad:The eldest little !!!!!! that I gave birth to, disappeared this morning when he knew I needed help. He's just sauntered in the door and sat on the couch even although he can see me trying to shift heavy exercise equipment and loads of bags and boxes by myself. I'm at the stage where I can see myself in my head, taking a hammer to the whole lot whilst screaming and yelling at the top of my lungs. OH was out at the gym for ages today although to be fair to him he didn't know I was starting this now so I can't be annoyed at him really. He's away to work now so I'm stuck with a shedful of stuff strewn all over the garden and it's going to rain. I've got no choice, I need to get the place looking a little less building site-ish by Tues.

I hate my life! I really really hate it. One of these days I'm just going to take the youngest and I'm going to up and go. fcuk the lot of them!

It's gorgeous, I was even thinking of having it again tonight :o but will wait until tomorrow night, I'm hoping hubby will have some next time so I don't eat so much!!

foxy - it's on the low-carb thread on the first page - recipe list - mazzers butter chicken

Sunny, well done with those lbs melting away :j I do keep having sneaky weighs myself & I have lost but I'll post them on a weekly basis, it looks more that way!! :rotfl:

alias, good luck with the loss adjuster, fingers crossed he won't be a 'patch it up' one.

mazzers, hope you got on ok with the BP monitor, sounds a nightmare but hopefully should be off by this time?? How come you had to have one?? Sorry, being nosy :o

Right, the general consensus was for me to keep posting my daily menus so today:

    pre-B - raspberry protein shake
    B - cheese & mushroom omelette
L - 2 lc crispbreads with butter & cheese, HM coleslaw, 3 slices roast peppered pork from Aldi, soup later
D - pork steaks with alias' grated creamy cauli & green beans

Hmmm, 2 lots of pork in one day, I'll have to change my avvy back to Miss Piggy at this rate!! :rotfl:

I didn't get out for my walk this morning, I ended up going to Aldi & spending £40, got a fair bit of shopping though. Got their salt & vinegar peanuts to try  so thanks to whoever it was that mentioned them on here, or was it on the low-carb thread  I'm getting confused!!

Anyway, off to see my Sis's new extension now *jealous sigh* so see you later.
  • alias, have you asked eldest to help or are you relying on him offering?? If your family are anything like mine, it ain't gonna happen, I have to shout at them at times if I want something doing & then everyone's in a miserable mood
Agree with foxy, you need some time out, sounds like you're trying to do too much :kisses3:

Aww alias, dont fret, you've paid your premiums, and had quotes i'm sure so let him come, let him say what he likes, be firm, tell him you've paid your premiums and you want a proper job done.
Honestly now, when my lounge carpet was burned ( there is an large opening to the dining room) they sent someone who tried to offer just the lounge piece to be replaced, i said no-way, it's all one large piece and they are paying for one large piece... they did.
And i didnt get carpet, i wanted wood and i told them too, you have every right, they are paying to replace the damaged item that was insured.

Bitsy - I have carrots that are almost ready in the garden, i`m going to leave them there as long as possible and then after induction i`m going to allow myself one bite per day :D they taste too good when they are home grown - like proper carrots when i was growing up IYKWIM

I've got two massive tubs full and they are coming along nicely. Only problem is I pick them whilst doing the watering so they don't quite get past that baby carrot stage :o

OOoh thanks, it was me that was asking. That looks very cheap. Cheap enough to make me worry slightly :rotfl:

Have a hug. Did you ask him to help you or were you hoping for an offer?? Think you perhaps need to have a family gathering and tell them things need to change? You sound incredibly stressed xxx

Alias, he's male. You have to ask. Don't suffer in silence.

If he won't help when he's asked, then let him have it both barrels. Sometimes we women martyr ourselves too much and end up making our lives more difficult than they should be. I'm not saying that you do, but I think there's a tiny tendency inside most women to wish that the men in our lives would just know what we want and need, and then we get angry when it doesn't happen. You've just got to ask. At least that way they know where they are, and haven't got the excuse of 'oh, I didn't know you wanted that...'
