hardly attractive things to look at - would definitely build one of those in !

Yes, I know most are unattractive but really didn't want an integrated one - at the very least we will get a stainless steel/silver colour one to match the big fridge freezer we are getting
(washer & dryer are plain white bog standard freestanding things but we are building a utility room to put them in so they won't be on show)

The SMEG 50's style one looks fantastic and I think most SMEGs are pretty good? - it is very expensive to buy just for the looks!

Don't buy a stainless steel one, it will never look clean. I had a stainless steel Smeg one, nothing but trouble. As soon as my extended warranty expired, it was out and I got a Bosch Logixx. Never had a problem and its extremely quiet.

Nothing to see here, move along.
  • I would personally go for a Bosch one as I have had no problems with mine and which magazine highly recommend them too all the best Leachy.

As usual, many people trading on the past glories of brand names. Just because it was made well decades ago doesn't mean the modern day beast with the same label will bear any resemblance to it.

Mines a Hygena. Got it cheap as a deal when bought with the kitchen. Its about 4 years old now and had no problems at all. (touchwood, hope I haven't jinxed it now :D ) Its only got 3 settings, off, cold rinse and a 60 degree wash. Don't need any more than that IMO.

Had a Bosch for 3 years - have had to replace the pump twice and was just informed it needed a new control switch so getting a new one - have gone for a miele, £349 from redhill appliances £1 delivery - so I am,to say the least, disappointed with Bosch

Had our Bosch for just over 3 yrs, No problems, touch wood, use it every day, quiet, economical and reliable. I'd buy another and/or recommend to a friend.

And again, you can't draw conclusions about a brand's reliability from a sample of one or two.
