A fairer system of payments in the Private & Public sector would be as follows:
Office Managers - Salary no more than 25% above staff average pay.
Department Managers - No more than 50% above staff average.
Managing Directors - No more than twice the staff average.
Chairman - No more than three times staff average.
DEFINATELY NO BONUSES - SALARY ONLY.0 -
Why does the Government think that cutbacks and losing your job is 'FAIRER ' for everyone. A fairer option would be everone taking a 5% salary reduction and no redundancies. If any department is overstaffed then do not replace them if they leave employment voluntarily. Stop the bullying immediately. Tax the offshore bank accounts for the rich who avoid tax altogether.0

Quite how politicians are meant to legislate for private sector practises, I don't know. There's only one word in response to anyone wishing to see a return to the fatuous notion of yesteryear Prices & Incomes policies and tea & cakes get-togethers between ministers and trades union leaders at Downing Street:

As I understand it business rates are currently collected by district councils and paid to the government who then redistribute the money to councils depending on the size of the local population. My suggestion would be:
'Allow councils to keep the business rates that they collect and to decide on their level. This would - reduce the cost of admin of collecting, paying over and redistributing the money
- mean that councils have a greater incentive to encourage business and industry into their area
- give councils the flexibility to reduce rates for shops in the dying high streets of many towns (and dying industrial areas)
- reduced business rates could also be used to encourage independent local retailers and stop our high streets all being clones of one another.'

QUICK REMINDER
Things like "withdraw from the EU" or "Stop paying benefits to people with kids" are not small, non-polemic changes. They're major national debate policy issues - so Im afraid we simply won't include things like that in the 50 words results.
Its worth reading the instructions on the first post to clarify what is and what isn't a 50 words issue

If students use their degree to the uk benefit over 10 years they get it free, if they take there degree abroad for the benefit of other countries they or the company they will be working for have to pay the full cost back.0

Student lown is a con, if you fall sick or drop out you have to repay all straight away, with charges for paying early etc. No one states these when the students take the loans out. We paid for our education through taxes why can the student of to day do the same.0

In certain circumstances if the authorities seize a dangerous dog they are unable to have it put down but have to accomodate it. This is a waste of money.
My understanding is that under the current law they could be prosecuted by the owners. Change the law, save money!0
