This would work, but will the politicians have the will to implement it.
Over a few years,- · Reduce tax credits – reduces fraud (compensate by raising personal allowances)
- · Simpler to manage – less mistakes, less wasted man power
- · More staff to investigate fraud – reduce fraud and increase revenue
:coffee: The trouble with making things idiot-proof are that idiots are so ingenious.0 -
My husband and i have been carers for 44 years to our disabled wheelchair confined son.we are both over 65,we are no longer entitled to claim carers allowance, although our caring role has become harder, with us both having ill health. please remember us.its a labour of love but extra cash would help.0

The goverment should force banks to fully implement faster payments which were designed to stop them deliberately hanging on to our money. Most banks have only allowed token payments despite the sytem being fully tested for over two years. Who is in control the banks or the goverment!0

Many firms offer "unlimited" internet usage when signing up to a mobile phone contract, but often the small print states there is a limit of 512MB, which is not even a lot of data. Unlimited should mean unlimited, or at least be limited to "fair use".0

Bills run up on stolen mobile phones can be horrifying. Banks limit card withdrawals per day. Why not an optional limit on cost of phone calls per day. If your phone is stolen or lost, you can’t call to block the number, still less if you don’t realise straight away. 0

I recently used the wrong card whilst abroad to pay for car hire and went £160 over the limit. Being away I didn't receive any letters from the bank. LLoyds charged me a total of £260 for this. There is meant to be a cap each period but the charges ran over two periods hence the unfair charges. This is tantamount to extortion and should be banned. We have both been made redundant and are living off meagre savings and have not signed on so these huge fees hurt. The banks are ripping their customers off with impunity whilst continuing to reward their incompetent staff with huge bonuses0

Small Shopkeepers in coastal cul-de-sacs need council tax raised by a sales tax and banish front end loading effect of imposed valuations, this will increase the use of empty shops, spur authorities to provide infrastructure for better shopper experience, and allow niche markets to take root.0

Government should take control of providing third-party motor insurance at an initial standard low price for all, that drops further when claim-free over a period of time. Incentivising young drivers to drive carefully (instead of assuming risk) will have a positive effect on road safety and reduce driving without insurance.
(Rationale: Motor insurance is the only part of life where you are reliant on the whims of private companies and their profit margins to meet your legal requirements. There is still a place for insurance companies, to provide comprehensive/fire/theft additions for those with valuable cars, but it is a crazy world indeed where we have to depend on money-grabbing private companies to meet the minimum legal requirement!
A low initial price for everyone gives everyone - even 17 year old boys - something to protect, and an incentive to drive carefully as a result.)0 -
Most of the rest of Europe enjoy a free two year manufacturers warranty on products and goods. We should insist on the same guarantee in the UK. This would cost the Government nothing and save:grouphug: consumers a massive amount on repair bills for goods that fail between 13 and 24 months.0

Ridiculous to send every household in Wales letters/leaflets/forms from Government, in English and Welsh. All the Welsh goes straight into recycle bag as it does in most Welsh households. Expensive and bad for enviroment. Ask people which language they prefer to be addressed in and only send out info in one language.0
