  • How to improve front line services: Compel cuts to be made at the top, not the bottom, especially public sector cuts. Past cuts have been at the front line, but managers, directors and their pay have increased. Eliminate self-fulfilling and destructive box-ticking - and fat cats.
  • BBC iplayer should only be available to TV license holders - why should people who don't have a license and don't contribute to the cost of making the programme be able to watch for free?
:D Make a list of important things to do today. At the top, put 'eat chocolate'. Now, you'll get at least one thing done today. :D
  • People between the age of 60 and 75 could pay 50p per journey. Nothing is free!
  • Why don't Local Authorities reduce the number of highly paid "Chief" and other executives who earn more than £100,000 p.a. Each one removed would save possibly 3 actual "workers" who do - yes - the actual work.
There are many very well qualified personnel who are equally, if not more, in touch with what's needed to run a Local Authority sensibly
  • Expenses, so unpopular, even MPs don't like the hassle of claiming for them. Stop them altogether. Everyone hates them. It will be really popular.
MPs can live in their party premises (or in the houses other MPs have bought using the expenses system). No-one should be able to buy a house for themselves from public money.
For essential journeys they should be given an Oyster card or a similar bus/rail pass this would lead to better transport systems being devised for everyone.
  • when i use my debit card my account gets debited immediately, yet if theres a mistake it takes 5 working days for the money to be refunded onto my card back to my account! surely this can be done as quick as the debit?
  • Everyone can live without alcohol or high street shopping, but not live without the use of gas and electricity. It is an outrage to watch the energy companies reporting profit and even huge profit year over year, following by announcement of energy price hikes. There should be a cap on the price hikes in relation to the energy companies' profit, as this is about protecting people's basic needs.
  • How much to carparks make immorally from giving no change from machines? Either enforce fairer machines that return change, or award misprofits to local charities in full.
  • Renewal of driving licences every 10yrs up to 60 yrs old. Nominal fee,(£15?). Would generate government revenue and update road sense/capabilities. Driver accidents recorded at dvla for instructors information at renewal time.
    :A
  • I am old enough to remember double summer time during the war and to hate the change when it was removed. Please reinstate double summer time so that for the summer at least we will have the same time as France and Spain. It will also increase the time we can spend outside during the summer and reduce the time that lights and other daylight associated activities are switched on.
