After reading all the replies from seller and buyer, I would happily buy from Chester, but Mrs CM you are on my blocked bidders list and I would not buy from you as you appear sly and underhand.
I agree - I have had a few buyers like her in the past and been out of pocket. They are very knowledgeable of how ebay and paypal work and how to fool the system so they get the goods and also their money back. She is on my blocked buyers too.
  • so was the cranky crane supposed to be supplied ?

if you've advertised a whole bunch of stuff and something is missing I too would expect you to send it at your own expense (but wouldnt bother if the set could be used without, especially if i got it at such a bargain price) however from the sellers point of view if the buyer had started a claim from me I would also wait for the outcome before sending anything else.

I think the buyer is very wrong here, it is disgusting that people resort to tactics like sending a letter to get a claim from paypal. They have openly admitted they have the sellers stuff and their money back so all the whinging on about "the seller did this, the seller did that" is worthless Imho, and i hope your police relatives gave you a talking to about morals when they told you it wasnt a police matter !!

  • Please tell me if im missing something here...
But didnt the buyer say they were clearing out their sons big collection of thomas the tank stuff?
So why did she buy a big bundle from the seller?
Ok, fair enough with the boxed engines- presents for people.
But why buy a load of second hand stuff that you have already? And the exact same bits that your trying to clear out?!
  • I have been following this thread from the start, the seller has still not said why she still has they buyers money AND train set. There may have been arguments but this has surley got to be the main point? The seller can't keep both!

Because the seller is buying to sell, regardless of what she says, it's so plain to see!

She must have lots of children of various ages too, looking at kids clothing that's been sold.

Oh hang on, they will be getting sold for friends and family won't they...not

The buyer here wants to have their cake and eat it, which is totally disgusting.

Irrespective that she didn't feel 100% happy with her items, trying to keep the money and the sellers product is disgraceful.

If the seller is offering to pay return costs, the buyer needs to do the right thing here.

If not, the seller could perhaps post the buyers details for all to see. I wouldn't advocate auction wrecking, but this is the exact reason why Ebay & Paypal naffs so many people off, and justice needs to be seen to prevail.

As stated communication between Louise & I could have resolved this simply & quickly without any need for all of this.

Don't you have both the item and the money? Surely if your as reasonable as you say one of them should be returned to Chester. Simple really if you did that then this fuss that your saying could be over.

You still haven't explained why you put the tracking number of a RD letter in the dispute so that Paypal would think that the item had been returned. If your not trying to rip Chester off as it looks like you are you should either be returning the item or paying her for it. See simple to sort out. At the moment the only person who has lost out is Chester. You have both the money and the item

Chester - Have you appealed Paypal's decsion? It may also be worth ringing them as if you can prove that the tracking was from a letter not from a parcel. Others have got decisions reversed because of this,

It is quite simple really CM, when you return an item to a shop for a refund, you actually believe it or not hand the item over to the person working on the check out, and they issue you a refund.

You wouldn't hesitate then would you as you'd want your money back so would naturally give the item back.

Just because the transaction is over the internet and you have a screen to hide behind, doesn't make it okay, it just shows that you have more confidence because it doesn't involve having any people skills to deal with the problem.

So pleased I don't sell train tracks, but i'll block you anyway to be safe.

Regardless of who was in the right or the wrong to begin with the buyer now has the money and the item. That's wrong and by the sounds of it was the intention.

If you want to resolve this CM then either send back the item or pay for it.

The buyers details are on this thread. I would not recommend you sink as low as them by interfering with auctions. As they say, there's more than one way to skin a cat (not meant literally!)

You may want to take these details to ensure you block this buyer from your auctions - I certainly will.

To the buyer - find a way to resolve this fairly. At the moment you should be struggling with your conscience. How low will you go for a few pounds?
