1st Credit dont have a clue what they are doing half of the time, and they do it WRONG the rest.....thats why they got their backsides kicked by the OFT and why I have a serious complaint in against them with a couple of Official bodies.

They will clutch at straws just to get something....dont forget that the collection staff are on commission.

Until they PROVE it, dont send ANY money to them...at all!

BTW, they use a 7 number reference.

It is not unknown for them to chase people of the same, or similar, name in the hope that people will get scared and cough up some cash.

    Scum.
    :D:D stay wonky :D:D

With regard to your gf, if they cannot prove you owe them any money, then you have nothing to pay. You can genuinely tell her that you don't owe the money, and have sorted out a misunderstanding on their part.

As I noted earlier in the thread, the Barclaycard account number that Worst Credit supplied doesn't match the one that was referred to on the account I paid earlier this year, to HFO collections. Worst Credit quote a 13 digit Barclaycard account number, whereas HFO quoted a 16-digit one.

Still no reply - starting to wonder if they're even going to bother, although suspect that if they do it'll be a generic fob-off response.

Definitely. Am not doing anything until they tell me what they think that the amount is for - as I said in earlier posts, never had two Barclaycards so really don't see how I can owe two amounts to them.

Today received two letters from Worst Credit - the first one dated 23/10/09 (same day as I wrote to them about the account) threatening legal action and another letter dated 28/10/09 offering discounts off the balance if paid in full within a certain number of days. Interestingly, also received a letter from Barclaycard themselves dated 29/10/09 acknowledging a complaint, advising that the matter will be investigated and informing that I should hear back from them by 09/11/09.

Therefore intend to write to Worst Credit, enclosing a copy of the letter from Barclaycard, but does anyone have suggestions on what would be the best letter to send?
  • Not convinced if should write or not? Does appear as if their letters were delivered late due to post strikes...

For now, Reggie, just let it lie. As long as you are 100% sure that you are right ( you didn't have any other CC that could now be part of Bcard?,Goldfish, Morgan stanley e.g?) then they can do nothing else other than try and scare you into sending money.
....and then you can report them to the OFT and the Onbudsman:D
