i haven't grabbed any hamsters so dont shoot me down. i use ebay regulary for both selling and buying and if i pay over the odds that my fault no one elses.if i think its overpriced i dont buy it. i will get it for a price i am prepared to pay eventually. thats all i am trying to point out. and christmas is not just about toys either (everyone seems to forget that these days)
Emotions run high sometimes when our children are concerned and most of us on here have spent a lot of time in trying to find these toys and therefore it is something that we feel strongly about.
We all know the real meaning of christmas. But we have to be realistic and know that we are living in a society where advertising influences our lives and whilst no one sets out to be materialistic it is important for us to make sure our child doesn't feel they are the only ones who didn't get a hamster for christmas if all their friends got one!
Children are by nature materialistic in the sense that a large part of their world revolves around their toys and it would be foolish to think it didnt.
I'm sorry about your father and I would love my nan to be around for christmas again and sympathise with the way you feel.
Christmas is about being with our families but also who cannot feel happy when they see joy on their childs face when they open their present, especially when it is something they have wanted.Went to the paper shop - it had blown away.0 -

due to ebay problems at time of listing . Is it ok for me to refund you and relist item to get a realisic price for this item.If you have noticed the ebay search isnt working correctly and ebay only showing buy it now items not auctions.
Please let me know asap
can i do anything?
Some one has written on here that you can refuse to cancel sale. Their realistic price is 2 to 3 times rrp. their loss.0 -

They don't have to sell it to you. Sorry, but if something technical messes up the auction end, then the contract is null and void.
Maybe ask them what a realisitc price is?0 -
At least they were honest and didn't say a cat peed on it!!
Oh yeah i hate that old trick. I won a gorgeous huge christmas snow globe the other day in the final seconds, paid immediately and the a got a refund some 3mins later with the message that her clumsy hubby knocked it off the table while she was packing it  really?!:mad:0 -
cyrano2009 wrote: »What does ebay say - doesn't the seller have to sell to you at the final price, technically speaking your under contract. When ever you list on ebay theres no guarantee it's going to reach the price you want - thats why theres a reserve price. They should have set a reserve price!
Not if something 'frustrated' the contract. I studied law at degree level and if the seller wants to cancel the sale he can...............and ebay would be obliged to remove any potential negative feedback as well. I myself had a few items finishing tonight (not hamsters) and am down a little, but will put it down to life. Ebay will also refund my listing costs!!
Cheers

It'd be like bidding for a house at a live auction, someone hijacking the auctioneer when your bid stands at £100, and expecting to buy it at that price, IYSWIM. If anything interferes with fair running of the auction, the contract is null.
And they don't have to send it - they just don't put it in the post.0 -
be careful what you bid on because i'm guessing a lot of the sellers, if forced to uphold their contracts, will say they've sent the items out, wait for a paypal dispute then refund the money, having relisted and resold the item in the meantime.July- coconut body shop body butter, pom bear football, mini johnsons lotion, Sally Hansen nail treatments0

funny.onion wrote: »Of course if someone buys one and then another one thinking they may be able to sell it on ebay to offset the cost of them buying something they couldn't get hold of then fair enough.
People who had listings ending tonight who fall into this group will be gutted. Auctions haven't reached RRP value, these people will no doubt be the ones who end up fulfilling the sale so they don't get a neg and are worse off than they had hoped they would be.0 -

There are consequences if a seller does not uphold their side of the sale.
The seller will go through the resolution centre asking you to cancel the sale, you must not agree to it so that their fee's will not be refunded and show them that if they start an auction at a low price they have to accept it may not go for what they wanted.Went to the paper shop - it had blown away.0 -
