  • Thats a bit harsh. Someone on here has already made the point - its people buying up stock at rrp and then selling it on at huge prices which is the problem. Not quite the same as the odd extra item or something you dont use any more. A friend was in the local toy shop and the person in front of her bought all the toy beds (16 approx) no doubt for ebay. If you are a business register your self - if you are an individual doing that you are an extorting profiteer.

Here Here. x 16 beds. I am the most meek and mild person but I think if I saw someone take 16 beds off the shelf they wouldn't have made it to the till! :rotfl:

I am non violent but my voice would have echoed around the store asking the person to justify buying all the items. Then I would have followed them home and at nightfall got weedkiller to spell out GREEDY TOY SNATCHER on their front lawn.

    ;)
Went to the paper shop - it had blown away.

i have to say if you are so anti ebay why use it. if you all stopped bidding the prices would have to come down as ebay is all about supply and demand and you are ALL incresing the prices yourself by putting on bids. buy it nows are normally calculated by sellers searching completed listings to see what they can get for the item at current market value so if auctions are selling low then the buy it now will be lower. and if you know a shop is with holding stock for staff, and they are selling on ebay then why not report them to head office!!!! Toys r us staff are not allowed to resell on ebay!
However I hope you do all get what you want and without overspending but try to remember christmas is about family time etc ( i lost my dad in January and never expected that to be the last christmas i had with him and i wish i could exchange presents for more time with him) . also if you asked your kids what they got last year 95% wouldn't be able to tell you so please bear this in mind when you are spending £150+ on items which are already being resold on ebay.

Have nothing at all against ebay, love it, use it weekly to buy/sell personal items BUT i dont swipe childrens toys from shelves for my own gain. Nothing christmasey about that.

its the sellers on ebay that have caused this stock shortage isn't it?

I have to agree there, might have gone as far as to make it HAMSTER SNATCHER, that would have got the neighbours wondering!
  • 2000+ items coming up in searches - some of them from overseas granted, but not that many.
  • dont you see thats the shops fault for selling them. they restrict food offers so complain to the retailer. ooo but i forgot they are making a profit as well so they dont care you they sell to as long as they dont have to sell it in january in the sale. the world is full of greed full stop!!

  • Or accuse them of shoplifting and while they're being quizzed by the staff grab a few beds (for sharing with msers obviously).
  • so what's happened to ebay then? is it all auctions that are affected, or just the hamster auctions?
