No one is against ebay.
If I spot a Stradivarius violin at a boot sale and the seller wants a fiver for it then I am entitled to get it authenticated and sell on ebay for five grand.
However, I do not think it is fair for anyone to go into a shop and take as many toys as they can fit in their trolley with the sole purpose of selling on ebay.
Of course if someone buys one and then another one thinking they may be able to sell it on ebay to offset the cost of them buying something they couldn't get hold of then fair enough.
Most people would start an auction at 99p giving the buyer the option to bid up to what they can afford.
However, it must be desperately frustrating for buyers to see auctions for toys on a buy it now that are 3 times and sometimes more, over the cost of the rrp.
I know that stores were not prepared for the huge demand but even so if people played fair and only bought toys for their own personal needs then there would have been much for everyone to go round.
As a parent surely we should all have affinity for other parents and not wish for anyone else's child to lose out at christmas or to put parents through the distress of not being able to afford the inflated prices on ebay if they have been unlucky in buying in a store or online at the rrp?Went to the paper shop - it had blown away.0 -
i haven't grabbed any hamsters so dont shoot me down. i use ebay regulary for both selling and buying and if i pay over the odds that my fault no one elses.if i think its overpriced i dont buy it. i will get it for a price i am prepared to pay eventually. thats all i am trying to point out. and christmas is not just about toys either (everyone seems to forget that these days):T0

I would look and see if they have any other hamsters auctioned. If yes, I would rub my hands together and congratulate myself on a great bargain.0 -

If people are prepared to pay the high prices then theres a market (and profit) to be made on ebay. Supply and demand. It's not really Ebay creating the demand - just meeting it. Its us mad lot in here thats to blame - we've created the frenzy. Didn't some one on here say they were mad for hamsters even thought their kids hadn't even asked for them!!!.
:rotfl:
That's me - I don't think my girls are even aware of the hamsters. They want sequin art :rotfl:0 -
and again its the shops fault for not putting a limit on. hooray for toys has and is still selling out. its the big retailers and while they will let people do it there will always be a market on ebay. everything in demand ends up on ebay (it happens every year):T0

How about, this price is certainly realistic to me these were on half price in Sainsburys, also both Tesco and Boots were offering them on 3 for 2 deals, or were you hoping to cash in on their scarcity? :rotfl::rotfl:0 -

I'd say thanks for e-mailing and offer to pay up to the RRP but, all's fair in love and eBay so no, it's not ok to refund you! They do seem more reasonable than others posted about.
Good luck!Slimming World weight lost so far...5 stone 1 lb :T STS this week.....
