Very true,
I'm almost glad that I'm going through it all at a young age. It was my own follishness that got me where I am, but I know I have a safety net almost. My home isnt at risk etc.
Thats not to say I think its best to do it young at all, but from my own personal p.o.v I'm glad to be learning these lessons now so I can carried them forward into the future.
Not much happening today, busy at work with lots to do but I seem to get caught in the menile. Plenty happening in the run up to christmas. Early start tomorrow as well. got to be there for 8am to accept a delivery. Think I've got one slight problem staff emerging from the ranks already, hmmmmm will need to nip that in the bud very soon me thinks.....Wealth is not measured by currency0 -
Not much to report for another day peeps.
I'm feeling a bit low, no idea really why.
I guess I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed at work. I'm not used to everything being my sole responsibility and I keep forgetting things and then my boss comes down and reminds me, and I guess has to have a "gentle word" in my ear and I'm so conscious of doing well. When their next shop opens I know less focus will be on me, but still!
I'm really tired today as well, been at work for 11 hours, and im knackered, I've been constantly doing something and Im mentally tired too.
Havent even really thought about money the past couple of days. I know however that I've got £40 left to last me until payday.
Gonna go back through my statements sunday evening and see what happened, and where the money went this time!Wealth is not measured by currency0 -

Pressure/stress will make you feel low. Important thing in that situation, is to make sure you can "switch off" when you get home. It's bad enough working 11 hours a day without bring it home and working another 5 hours at home. Or dreaming about work and so work 24 hours a day.
You'll have to cut your "time" cloth to fit to your "tiredness" suit. It might be worth going to bed early when you're home from work, rather than coming on here - foregoing such pleasures as my company (:rolleyes:
:A ) for extra sleep. Eventually, your mind and body will catch up with you, and you'll feel a lot better and you'll be coping a lot better.

Hi All
Couple of days off for me, as suggested by the powers hat be (ZTD!)
Still knackered lol, but I've thought about a few things and decided, I am cut out for my job, and I have time to reassert myself and so I will
As for spending, I've pretty much just not thought about it. I know I've spent money but I've been concentrating so much on new job etc that I haven't really given debts etc much thought.
Flatmate is now back from a work trip, need to have a word about when she'll be moving out, plus I want this months bill money and some money either now or end of the month for her share of final bills. I do not want to have to be chasing her once she's moved out.
Gonna have another got at an SOA when next month pay packet comes in so I know what Im working to etc. So am building ideas for new plan of attack on the debt situation.Wealth is not measured by currency0 -
changed my mind........
might construct POA (Plan of Action) tonight......
I'm feeling ruthless and constructive........
Off to work now!Wealth is not measured by currency0 -
RIGHT!
Time for the POA
1. Setting up standing order to A & L card.
- Sub category here - food budget-spend budget
Idea being that this will be my money, for the day to day and food, no bills etc
Thinking circa £150 per month.......
2. Snowball calculator for best course of action on debt repayment.
As I thought two store cards first then Abbey credit card.
3.All PPI's cancelled (DONE just had to check!)
4. Ensure all bills up to date.Just council tax in arrears £83, waiting for flatmates bill money for this month and that will be paid.
Some point this week!
5. Check balance for New York fund/Store card repayment.
6. Pay packet from new job, calculate allocation for spends, bills, debt repayment. Have comprehensive list to hand!
7. Meal plans organised for when old flatmate moves out (24th!) and new one moves in.
8.Food budget £20-£25 per week inc toilettries/cleaning product.
9.Fun money budget i.e eating out, drinks.
10. Clothes/miscellaneous product budget?
11.Repay New York fund with money borrowed etc, Quidco money if paid out in Nov'
12.Xmas present for bf budget? Agreed £50, double check he's happy with that.
13.Print out my commitments on this plan
14. Organise/plan stock pile shopping trip
15.Moving house budget, for agents fees etc and deposit and van!
16. Ebay fuly exploited? Camera and downloading? Sell up junk before moving house.
17.Loose change added up, see whats in the pot!Wealth is not measured by currency0 -

ok so its half 2, and I havent spent a penny today!
Need to do a big old tidy up of my bedroom this afternoon, looking a bit of a tip! That will make me feel like ive done something today other than sit on my backside on the internetWealth is not measured by currency0 -
HA HA!
I have hatched another cunning plan. After a quick flick thru the Loans board, and I going to attempt........... actually no, not attempt.......
I AM GOING TO.......... get the PPI cancelled on my loan with Abbey.
I have the template letter as mentionned in the thread regarding PPI being cancelled, so I am going to print that bad boy out tomorrow night, and pop it in the post for the lovely chaps at Abbey. And request written confirmation of such...
I am also going in to the branch of Abbey to find out exactly how much money is outstanding on my loan.
I have a feeling that my repayments have only just covered the additional cost of the PPI, its not even paying the actual loan off yet!
Hmmmmm what else can I do?
