I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

    Morning all,

Didnt get on here till late last night, too late for me to post really, think there would have been to many typos,so I'd just like to say how sorry I am to N9eav and his DW.I'm sure she will find comfort from you and her siblings,I know when we lost my mum and dad within a couple of years of each other it brought me and my brothers closer again, after a few years of being caught up in our own families.

Ivy, thanks for telling us you spotted a post by Halight.Glad he's Ok,and hi if you're reading this Halight.

Jayne ,it must have been such a hard day for you yesterday ,I'm glad Paul is now back home with you.The idea that the kitten is a gift from him is a lovely idea, pets can be really comforting.

Still decluttering and tidying, had a busy day yesterday, didn't even go near the laptop till nearly bedtime, but feel the house is a lot straighter now. Also hitched a lift to town with DS1 while he went to the barbers.I went to Mr.S and stocked up on toileteries as they had some good deals, will put some away for Xmas.I got some basics casserole lamb.It said it was cheaper cuts of meat suitable for slow cooking, mostly on the bone.I stuck it in the Remoska with carrots ,celery, leek and onions, and it was lovely and tender.I've pulled the rest off the bone, and there's enough for another meal.

I've also started making my Xmas cards,so cleared the sewing machine away for a little while.I'm lucky as we have a tiny box room which I use as office/craft room,so I can leave all my stuff out. Will go and do some more later.I saved a lot of bits from cards we got sent last year,so recycling as well!

I'm keeping my fingers crossed and sending positive vibes to DS1,who had an interview this morning, the first he's had for ages. He's been out of work nearly 10 months now, which doesn't do anyones confidence any good.

    Right,must carry on,hope you all have a good day.x

    Morning peeps

cool here today and wet, nasty drizzle so the houndies and i all got a soaking when we went out.

The house has had a run over with a duster and the vacum cleaner and is rather tidy for this time of week. Late shift today and then 2 days off so will be spending that smashing some more tiles off in the kitchen.

Just met a lovely lady who is local to me, i advertised my Dads bread maker for sale yesterday as he bought one that makes two loaves at once and the lady has just bought the other one. Don`t really know why he wanted to make two at once, think he just likes different gadgets.

Also sold my elliptical trainer a couple of days ago to another lovely lady so my savings jar now has some money in it :D

When i got home from w*rk last night i got mobbed by two very excited doggies who i`ve not seen for a few days, lovely to have them back, the house has seemed rather empty for the last few days. Still i think that was the last trip for some time as it will be too cold for oldie to camp out soon.

The raspberry cheesecake muffins (courtesy of Haribo`s recipe) are cooling in the kitchen - must get them into the freezer before i go to w*rk or DH will have demolished the lot by the time i get home later. All i really need to do now id hang the washing up on the radiator airers and then i can have a late breakfast.

Curry for tea tonight, the lamb balti that i made a few days ago and froze is lovely, i made it in the sc this time but really i think i prefer it in the remoska.

Cranky & George ((((HUGS)))) for both of you. The kitten is a lovely idea, we used to have a cross burmese many years ago which was just like a little person.

    Layla - Welcome :hello:

Essex Girl - Hope that you get everything sorted out at work

Catznine - Hope that you feel better soon.

I can`t remember what else i was going to "say", so i`ll disappear and see if i remember later

    Have a good afternoon everyone.

Planning on starting the GC again soon :p

Thanks to everyone for their concern and support yesterday....

A little belated, but please accept my condolences N9eav - I guess you will be quite busy for the next few days, especially with OH having 11 siblings.

..... hm vanilla vodka is maturing nicely....

Is that as easy & obvious as it sounds, or do I need to add sugar?

I'm reading them at the moment. Just started the last one. Have to say it seems to be taking a loong time to get virtually nowhere and not really into love stories but a fun way to pass the time.I find them really easy to read though - I think cos they are so light basically just the romance.I read the first 3 in a day each. Not like the Harry Potters where there is so much to get your teeth into.

I was disappointed by True Blood last night. The first episode was so interesting , deep, gripping and funny and the one last night was just Twilight with boinking. They even used some of the same lines like when he says to the girl " Are You happy? over and over which is what Edward always says to Bella.True Blood promised so much but it just seems to have shrunk to a romance with sex in. :(

    Welcome Layla!

I love reading paranormal romance books usually but the Twilight series was/is a good read. I have actually read all the books twice heh. :p I'm married but if I was single...I would eat up that Robert Pattinson hehe. Yum!

Are you watching season 1 or 2? I thought season 2 was better and it's quite cute how they are a couple in real life too. Brits taking over in Hollywood..I tell ya hehe.

Really is as easy as it sounds, bought cheapo value vodka from Mr T's, put it through the water filter (was due for replacement, but could've been interesting if dd3 had got there next ;)) about 10 times, thanks to redruby for that tip! Then added a vanilla pod (69p in Aldi, with the other spices), decided wasn't quite vanilla-ish enough so added another two. Now nicely matured and ready to be bottled. OH is a vodka connoisseur, or so he likes to think  and he reckons it's really good too!

Want to try toffee vodka next, sounds yummy! Christmas is going to pass in a blur here!

Just been to Mr T's for my wine and beer bargains, got 12 bottles of hardy's about £6.99 each usually on the 3 for £10 offer, and a case of bud for £6 as I'd spent over £30, total including my flour and yeast that I also needed was pennies over £10 with my vouchers and staff discount :T Also got a wine club mailing this morn, so ended up with an extra 150 point as well!

Come home and jointed the chicken and coated with marinade, turned bacon things, put apple braid mix in bm and just waiting for it to finish, stock bubbling with chicken carcass, froze assorted bits from the fridge, cleaned kitchen and did a bit of tidying there (had to as couldn't get to anything!), and dd3 made a vanilla and orange cake, she found the skull cake tin and so we shall be having a foretaste of halloween later :p Now need to go and sort out the dining room, between swapping around yet more washing!

Think I might have a quick cuppa though first :D
