Morning all,
Jayne, I echo what everyone else has said you are an excepctionaly (sp) brave mum, I know that Goerge and kitty will end up best friends, and I am sure kitty will be told a lot of Georges thoughts, animals are always a huge help, take care xx
Aussie you can freeze onions, but you have to chop and fry them off, I did it with a sack full once, took me ages, but its sooo worth it when you can just grab a bag from the freezer.
Off to work today, quick tidy round this morning, and tea tonight is hm quiche, which was in the freezer with chips and beans, so all very quick, I have the usual sainsbugs delivery coming tonight, (good job as we are out of butter and sugar)
Essex girl good luck with the complaint x
Ok, better go have good days all xx

Good morning all!
I've read bits of the thread for the last couple of days but find it hard to find time to post on the days I work, however I'm now on annual leave until a week on monday.
My first attempt with the slow cooker was a success-braising steak that we had monday and tuesday and I've frozen another 3 days worth. I got some YS chicken quarters in waitrose the other day so cooked them and made curry with some yesterday and theres loads of that to freeze too.
I have no idea what we're having tonight-so much for meal planning!! I need a couple of things today so will see what takes my fancy.
I'm hoping to sort through dd's clothes today to sort out what is too small. My wardrobe needs a sort too.
Hugs to all those that need one.July grocery- 24.40/220. NSD-1/3.

:wave:Morning all,
Breakfast is porridge for the kids. I've had a raspberry smoothie. I managed to pick a huge bowl of raspberries yesterday from my neglected canes. There were loads I'd been missing at the back of my border tangled up with the roses. They crop twice-once in July and again now.
Lunchboxes have oatmeal soft rolls with salami, flapjacks and fruit. I will have barley broth.
Supper tonight will be something simple-baked potatoes and cheese/eggs/beans probably plus coleslaw. I made a big bowl of coleslaw with celeriac yesterday.
I'm using my food processor a lot these days now I have it on my counter-it is great for making coleslaw quickly. I used it just now to breadcrumb several heels of bread that have accumulated in the bread bin. I shall make duke pudding for supper tonight.
Not much on today. I must buy more toothpaste and shampoo, and replace some wine that accidently got drunk last night- oops:o I really must stop buying it before Friday:wall:
ETA Must also do some baking for the kids. I have a bowl of yogurt that needs using up so I think some yogurt-oatmeal muffins are in order.
Penelope Penguin are you around? :hello:I've been trying to pm you:)
Have a productive day everyone;)0 -
Thank you to everyone who's given me support over the last couple of days, and apologies to everyone who's tried to send me a PM
I've been taking my own advise to anyone who finds the internet gets a bit hot, and stepped away from my computer
I've cleared some space in my inbox, and will add this post to the Daily thread later

:hello:Morning!
Cranky - I caught up with your posts last night (lump in throat) and want to send you and George big (((hugs))) you are so very brave. Looking forward to hearing all about the new little kitten.
(((hugs))) also to Neave and family!
Today after all the mess of redecorating we are getting our new carpet for the hall stairs and landing!:jwe bought it when the shop had a 1 day of 25% off on top of the 50% they already had, so we managed to get a really good quality one. Taking the old one up was hard going as the underlay had stuck to the concrete floor in the hall, we had to take a spade and wallpaper scraper to it!:rotfl:It is very cold out there without any carpet so hope the fitter turns up early!
In the meantime I am going to shut myself in the kitchen and get on with making some heart shaped lemon kisses (cookies) for dd's engagement party this sunday. That should warm me up!
Still coughing a bit with this virus but hoping it will shift soon, in the meantime stresils and hot lemon going down a treat! Hope everyone is well but (((hugs))) if needed.

I think that the board guides on OS do an excellent job, are very pro-active in finding links for people etc. and merging where necessary.
On some of the other boards I do wonder if they are still alive sometimes.
Pleased you're back with us 'cos despite my best efforts my searching skills leave a lot to be desired, bit like my scones really.Woofles you need to get out of that house. You are going insane:eek: - colinw
