:rotfl: :rotfl: at your urgency .... I was just the same today, but too scared to post ...
I came home from Tescos armed with vinegar, soda crystals, Zoflora, more microfibre cloths and then realised I didn't have a bluddy clue what to mix with what, and then the one thing I really really needed to do needed lemon juice and I couldn't do it anyway!! :rotfl:
that's the problem with lurking on OS so much .. I get all cleanie excited but get myself confused what to do!! bless
hope it's all sparkly gorgeous!!0 -

You might need to use some vinegar to get rid of limescaleMics_chick wrote:But while I'm on the subject of cleaning what is best way to clean the following:
Dunno if it's the 'best', but this is what I use
- lino tiles
- laminate flooring
Both cleaned with microfibre mop (wrung out till only slightly damp for the laminate - can be wetter for the lino) and a bucket of Stardrops solution (as above).
- cream leather suite
Be careful - very easy to take the top layer off. Something very gentle, such as saddle soap. Would even think Stardrops a bit risky here. Try cleaning small hidden patch first. I've used these products (http://www.perfectleathersolutions.co.uk/) and found them excellent.
- carpets
Fairly strong solution of Stardrops for spot cleaning. Otherwise, you could try hiring a steam cleaner and put a bit of SD in it.
- mirrors
Solution of SD, clean with cloth/sponge, then dry off with towel or newspaper. I usually use the towels I'm about to shove into the wash anyway. Important thing is to dry completely - that's how you avoid smears. Works well on chrome too.0 -

Babywipes are good for leather sofas (try on inconsicuous area first).I have plenty of willpower - it's won't power I need.

I use babywipes for spot cleaning carpets. Just need to put in a bit of elbow grease.
I also use babywipes for dusty, greasy surfaces in the kitchen e.g. metal surfaces of extractor hood. Also good on white window frames, wood or UPVC.0 -
Hi Everyone,
I am in the lucky position of having a new bathroom fitted. At the moment I don't feel that lucky as the rest of the flat is chaos and I am in the middle of small claims proceedings to try and recover £1000 from evil plumber number 1 who did a runner, but hey-ho.
Anyway, to cheer myself up, I am thinking about the fresh new cleaning routine I will start in there once it's complete (I know how to have a good time!!). I was just wondering what routine you would get into if you were starting from scratch with a bathroom (ie no ancient stains to tackle or three year old limescale) I'm primarily thinking of preventative measures to stop things like stains and limescale and black grout developing. I live in a hard water area so limescale a problem...
Apologies if this is the mnost boring post ever, but I get a feeling that there are a few other people on here that might think planning cleaning regimes can be relaxing (or is that just me - sad and alone!):rotfl:0 -
I got a new bathroom put in last year. All I do is a daily swish and swipe, a weekly proper clean (loo, bath, sink, any bad spots I see, shower screen, tidy out the shower gels etc) and once a month or so I give all the tiles a good scrub.
I have no experience of hard water though, sorry.
Hope you get everything sorted out real soon.0 -
Every day after I shower I rinse tiles and then remove excess water with a small window cleaning blade thingy . This definitely keeps them cleaner. I live in hard water area too. Hope this helps.Nothing is so fatiguing as the eternal hanging on of an uncompleted task. William James0
