  • I'm SO glad it's working out. I'ne never understood the old saying about schooldays being the happiest days of your life. What a load of carp that is.

Imagine someone holding forth on biology whose only knowledge of the subject is the Book of British Birds, and you have a rough idea of what it feels like to read Richard Dawkins on theology: Terry Eagleton

    What he said.

    Schools are the worst places.

I hope things continue to improve.
  • Well done you. You sound like a good mum. I'll be remembering all these parenting tips.

Mine have all been the only child from their primary to go to the high schools they go to so I know exactly where you are coming from.

It is a massive beating on their confidence to know everyone then suddenly noone and feel isolated, friendless and alone.. I am so very pleased to see he is settling now and happier.. my middle boy is in year 9 and still struggling with friendships.

Hopefully these boys will grow up and back off.. children are evil little creatures and they do niggle relentessly at a vulnerable party.. like packs of animals will hunt down and kill a weaker member of their society..

Sounds like drama may well be his forte!

Good on him for sticking with it.. he should be very proud of himself!!
