  • I used to have this thing that all black pets should be called Charlie, I think i must have picked it up from a TV programme when I was little.

I called my black cat Ninja!
Debt free since July 2013! Woo hoo! The bank actually laughed when I said I have come in to cancel my overdraft.

  • They do say that anything ending in an "ee" sound is better for getting a dog to respond to. Something to do with the tone of voice lifting at the end. My puppy is called Millie but there a few other Millie's around which could be confusing in the park etc.

You know what i'm going to say of course, Chaya! Meaning shade/shadow so appropriate for a black dog, also meaning beauty/lustre in Sanskrit & life in hebrew & pretty unique!

Yes Chaya is a nice & unusual name too....unlike my Max who's name is rather common :rotfl: :rotfl: and too appropriate as he is a "Mad Max" so I should definitely have called him something else :D .

Tess (one was adopted when she was a few years old, lol)
    Meg
    Rowan

    who are all black labradors

and Penny who is a black and white working type cocker :D

    The've also had:

    Blair
    Blair 2 (the revenge)
    Cleo
    Sheba
    Holly

and my labrador was called Millie, but that is very popular now.

I love the name Bella and on the radio today was a black trainee guide dog called Wispa :D
