Dinky - don't mean to sound horrible, but you're not meant to use MSE to sell things, even if it's stock clearance. Why not get in touch with your upline and see if there's anyone in your local area who might be interested in the books? Would save on postage then as well.

Who's excited about 2010 with Usborne?????

I am! Travel Incentive to Iceland, amazing new Very First Reading Series and an amazing starter kit for only £20.10!!!!

I've been a busy bunny today. Five confirmed bookings and lots of marketing done too. I love the new catalogues and stationery too.

OK, I have printed off the form, filled it in, put it in an envelope and put a stamp on it. I am going to give it a go. I am most likely leaving a professional career for a variety of reasons & am looking for more flexible ways to make some money. Reading through this thread (on various occasions) have encouraged me to give it a go. I also note my boys favourite books are Usborne. I have contact with various places I could sell the books. Looking forward to it!

Good luck Painted Lady! You sound like you have a great start already :j

Well done Caroline on all your bookings!! Wasn't the Gala fun and lots of exciting things going on this year.

I too was very busy yesterday contacting nurseries to try and get bookings for Ready Steady Listens during National Storytelling Week.

Well done Painted Lady - you'll go far with that attitude!!!

I have got two parties booked this month and lots of nurseries for NST week. Also got some school appointments and some leaflet drops. Who said January was quiet?!

Wow Caroline - you sound busy!

I'm just trying to gear up to get some events going on.. I have a couple of playgroup visits in Feb and March, but not much else!
Will try and call some people tomorrow for visits and or RSLs. I hate phoning though!
  • Just check with whoever you book with. There is normally a table there for you to use. I use book stands that have 7 tiers and they display the books beautifully. I put 2 of these on the table and then stack boxes up at one end if I have room to either put a sale box, or other titles that I can't fit on my display.
  • Yes the saunders display ones. Look on ebay too, as there are quite often people on there selling theirs off. They are the same as the ones used by Phoenix card people too.

I have a fair amount of stock, although you don't need that much to make a good display. With toddler groups and school fairs etc, you can always take orders and deliver back to them a week or 2 after.

    Good luck on getting started!
