Well done you :T.
You could ask the school to send out the current leaflets to the parents along with a letter to explain when you will be there etc. and that you accept WBD £1 vouchers.
Hope it goes well.0 -
OK, I have had all the welcome emails so guess I my pack is in the post. I am thinking of asking my boys nursery if I can do my first party there with them, then they can get books and I will have access to parents, lol. Nursery can get some free books. Also, as they know me, I wont look so bad if I look like a beginner, lol.0

Hi Jo - you should get your starter kit early next week. Have just pinged you an email. Ready Steady Listen would be good to run at your son's nursery to help them get lots of free books :cool:0

Dont panic!! try a ready steady read rather than a book fair. You dont need stock to do it - just read the section on the organiser website and you can download all the information from that area.
A good way to learn about stock is to buy one item from each series i.e. 1 beginners, 1 discovery etc etc. Then look at the book and show people, you can then say that this is an example of what you can expect to recieve.
I dont think you need alot of money to succeed with Usborne. I have a few sellers whom have very little income. I think its down to the individual and the amount of effort you put in. You can do this with the starter kit and be successful. Think outside the box and look around you local paper. look for charities needing help etc etc
Go for it!! - and go for the travel incentive also, sounds daunting but if you try your business will grow because of it!
work hard - and you will reep the benefits in the later months!
Good luck!:beer:0 -

Just one thing, how are the WBD vouchers redeemed, in connection with the RSR ?
What I would do - and this will boost the schools earning power, and yours too is to get the school to issue the WBD vouchers alongside one of our flyers. If people want to order any books from the flyers then they can gain a £1 discount on that book. Plus if you add that to the amount raised it will increase the schools free books. Again, saves you haveing stock out - so you can order them with the books for the RSR.
Remeber that you do not count the £1 towards the schools free books - but you can redeem them on the website when you submit the order.
Go for it! - Remember that there is another flyer coming out and it will have WBD offers on it.
Good luck!:beer:0 -
OK, my starter pack has arrived! **Proceeds to open it**0

Try the marketing departments. And yes, adapt the templated letters for yourself.
Good luck!

For the school you want the Literacy Co-Ordinator - find out their name before you ring to speak to them.
Companies - try PR or marketing departments, or Corporate Responsibility people.0 -
Just back from schools training masterclass. Wow - so much to think about and have just had a couple of good ideas kind of linked to that!0

There will be another leaflet coming out aimed at older children. Can't remember when they said it would be though.... Feb?
Personally I would wait until a bit nearer the time.0
