Hi hun!
Had 3 book fairs over the last week which have all gone well :j. Hope yours has been good too0 -
does anyone know if i can find out if there are reps in my area before commiting to anything ? Im running a fair at the local school and have had 3 reps contact me already so dont want to join and have a large amount of competition. I dont drive so im limited to my smallish town in Norfolk, but i have contacts in the infant school, 2 nurseries and 2 baby groups and dont recall ever coming across a rep in this area,
thanks in advance, im book mad and this is something which would really interest me !

Being book mad is a good start!
If you haven't come across a rep in your area, chances are there isn't one.
Sounds like you will have a few things to get you started!
Head office don't give out details of how many people are in each area as it would give a false impression. Some people only join to buy cheap books for themselves, and others join and do absolutely nothing. There isn't much commitment either. The only commitment is to put in a £100 order within your first 12 weeks. Once you've done this, you have no other ties

Hi Mishka,
Where have you seen their details listed? If it's on the net somewhere, they might not be doing Usborne any more, as people post their details, but then don't remove them if they stop. Lots of reps come and go over the years......
Definitely a good idea to ask at the school. And ask around your friends to get a good idea whether they'd be interested in coming to your starter party, or hosting their own party so that they can get lots of free books :T

well i faxed my form off yesterday morning and ive received my confirmation email back , and one from my lovely new upline
,
my only problem now is waiting for the start-up pack to arrive !! (patience is not one of my virtues)
Just a quick wondering, is it worth ordering any stationary now ? Ive looked through the site and am considering,
8 complete catalogues
party invites
books at home and school leaflet x3 (covers number of children in our school)
take a fresh look leaflet
teachers bookshop leaflet
paper bags simple
customer order pad
I want to get into the school ASAP so thought the leaflets will be needed for that, is it a bit overkill though ?? I dont know what will arrive with the start up pack but dont want to wait a week and find i then need to order it all before i can approach the school.
TIA

I think you get an order pad in the starter pack, although an extra one is always useful. Personally, I wouldn't bother with bags - I never use them myself. You can get plain ones cheaper on the internet though. I think you also get one main catalogue in the pack, but there's a special deal on a pack of 8 on USBAH at the moment if you want more. Fresh look leaflets are useful as the school might want to hand them out to the children.0

My starter pack arrived yesterday, i had forgotten how lovely some of the books are !!
Ive been through the USBAH website again and spotted they have 2 offers on at the moment, 1 is BOGOF on the very first readers and also the £10 off thousands of things to spot. They are both prefect for my target market so was thinking of putting an order in for next weeks starter party,
BUT can i charge what amount i feel appropriate on the books, ie the VFR i was going to sell at £2.50 each so they appear discounted rather than BOGOF and the thousand things to spot at £7.99 rather than the £4.99 as per the offer.
Is this wrong ? I dont want to diddle my friends but I also think I can sell them so that they are still getting a good buy and i maximize my sales ???
TIA
Mishka
PS how bloomin lovely is this sun we are getting !!!Bow Ties ARE cool "Just because you are offended, doesnt mean you are right" Ricky Gervais0
