I'm thinking of joining Usborne too, but I have a few questions which I'm hoping some of you could answer.
How much does a templated website cost and do any of you find you get many sales through them?
Do any of you drop off catalogues or leaflets to local houses and collect orders from them (I guess like Kleeneze)? (How much do the catalogues typically cost?)
I've seen some people mention getting nurseries to distribute leaflets in books bags. Are these leaflets usually to advertise home parties or organised events like ready steady reads etc, or are they to encourage the parents to place orders directly?
Many thanks for any info you can give me.0 -

Im on day one of my first RSR and with only 15 out of 265ish children sending in their forms so far I wasnt expecting greatness, however my total is at £157.80 !! wooooooo . . . .
Ive spent the day packing up orders and then I get that, The only thing that could top it off is if my OH has been getting my physic messages and comes home with a nice
bottle of white

Oooh Mishka, you'll get lots more forms come in after the Ready Steady Read event has finished too. I'm always amazed at the amount of money some children raise. At my daughter's school, one child raised £150 on their own!!!! :j
Hope the rest of the event goes well and can't wait to hear your total
Emma - I have a templated website and find that I have a few sales through it, but I use it mostly as a marketing tool. It's a great place to send people for recruiting, looking at the online catalogue etc. So I can honestly say that it has generated me lots of business. It costs around £45 for the year, but if you can get into Executive Club, then you'll get it for FREE
Usborne provide new leaflets every 2 to 3 months and show a great selection of our books on them. These are great for putting in book bags to promote a book fair at schools, putting through doors etc. Our main catalogues house all of our titles, so you can lend these out if people want to see the whole selection.
Let us know if you have any more questions.

Thanks for the information, can I ask another couple of questions?
How much is the postage and packaging on orders placed by the organisers?
Presumably customers need to pay up front when they place an order with you, is it cash only or are there other ways to pay? (I gather schools can be invoiced by Usborne directly)
Thanks again0 -
Hiya,
P&P is £3.50 for orders over £100 and £5 for orders under.
I generally take payment up front and we can take cash/cheques or debit/credit cards (which we process online). Schools can be invoiced by Usborne.

I seem to be the only one posting ??! where is everybody, hopefully too busy selling to post
Ive had a mad busy few weeks, 3 events which were small in takings but great fun on the day and well worth going for the contacts ive made (i also cleared some stock i wasnt sure i would sell)
My ready steady read is also all done and dusted, total raised was £821 :j but we had come to an agreement they could have a donation for another event so I have given £50 towards that,
I now have to find something to keep me occupied over the loooong summer hols !

Well done Mishka - what a brilliant result!!
Good luck in getting lots of parties booked throughout the rest of July and August!
