Recently bought 2 England football tickets through Ticketshafter and never received them. Thankfully the English Football Supporters Club "Englandfans" provided me with duplicate tickets for 1 of the matches but have yet to get a response as to where the tickets went. For all I know someone could have used them theirselves. Hate ticketshafter with a passion. Like many companies these days there's no problem when things go right, but when things go wrong, you're STUFFED!!!0

I think ticketshafter is a very apt name for them! I bought a pair of day tickets from them for the download festival on Saturday for my birthday. They were supposed to have been posted to me and I was charged £4.95 for postage, but they never arrived. I tried ringing them for a few days before the event, but was just told the lines were busy and cut off. I even used their automated service which said the tickets were being sent by secure post.
The day before the festival I managed to find an email address so sent them an email. I got a reply at 3pm on the day of the festival (it started at 10am and is about 3 hours from where I live) saying to collect the tickets from the box office.
Obviously by then it was too late for me to go, so I asked for a refund. I was told (the following day by the time they replied to my email) that because the event had started I wasnt allowed a refund. So in total they've had £131.45 out of me for two tickets that didnt arrive on time including £4.95 for postage when the tickets weren't posted and 5.25 per ticket "service charge". Also I've spent at least £5 on my mobile trying to contact them.
My advice to anyone would be not to buy your tickets from ticketmaster.0 -
Paula k, I am disgusted by your story and must agree with you that Ticketmaster should be avoided. I find it amazing that they have no obligation to actually get the tickets to you, yet they overcharge for their non-existent delivery!0

Right! That's another one I'm avoiding. So far it's Talk-talk, DHL, and now Ticketmaster.
I think I'd rather stay at home with a trifle.0 -

Easier said than done if you ever want tickets to an event, concert or show. A lot of venues and theatres have sole deals with Ticketmaster and some smaller companies (eg Ticketweb) are in fact Ticketmaster.
I'm actually really surprised that they have been allowed to become such a monopoly.0 -
Just to add my 2p worth....
Where possible I buy all my tickets from Ticketmaster. I have just received my tickets for MotoGP for 2nd July. I have never had a problem with them.
Trouble with this site is that you only *mostly* hear of problems with a company so I thought I'd praise them:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0 -
Don't forget the nice service charge they whack on too.
I paid for two tickets at 35 quid a pop.
They placed a service charge of 2.95 on each one and a delivery charge of 4.95.
They make me sick!0 -
Hi,
After using TicketMaster in the past in buying various tickets for concerts and football matches I wasn't too bothered when I bought 2 tickets for the tiesto concert coming up this weekend. I put in my credit card details and bought my tickets, some 2 weeks later and I was glad to see my ticket(s) had come through the door... and thats when this whole matter started!
I opened the envelope to find ONE ticket and not two. Immediately disgusted, I phoned up the ticketmaster customer service (which took me literally 3 hours to get through (one of these tell the question to an automated line and it will answer your query *nonsense*)), I got through for the agent to tell me: "have you checked if the other ticket is there?". That's the first thing I did you ignorant *person*. This woman told me to send the tickets back to them through special delivery back to their address with a covering letter to claim my money for the postage. So I wrote them a letter in complaint stating my other ticket and my money back which was £4;
I had also emailed someone through that **silly** account thing you get on their site (They state that the email will be answered within 72 hours, mine was answered after 33 days which is 792 hours after I first got in contact stating that because I had got in contact with them, the matter in their eyes was already resolved)
2 weeks later and nothing so I phoned them up (bare in mind I was now in my exams so I didn't need any other stress) and some bloke told me he'd sort it out for the next day. Of course he didn't although he 'promised' me;
To cut the story short after my 20th time in calling TicketMaster, I was 'promised' last Thursday that I would see my tickets on a Monday (guess what)- Monday came and went and no tickets arrived!
So, I rang them had a go at all their agents I got through to ranting verbal abuse until I got through to Susan Edwards who is some sort of !!!!!! behind the desk controlling the flow of tickets, she rang me up (while I was away yesterday to ask me to ring me back confirming my address (Isn't it listed by my details and on my covering letter (if they still have it which I doubt))) with her number which I must add said so quietly I needed to ring my voicemail 5 times, only to find that the extension number didn't exist...
Finally this morning I have got my TWO tickets after all that bull!!!!, but I doubt very much that I'll get my compensation for my Special Delivery and I'll probably see a phone bill over £40,
Never again,
PS- Sorry for the length of detail but thats what you get if you don't be careful from those **silly people!!**
Admin note : I know you angry, please try and watch your language though0 -
I too really dislike ticketmaster. They employ underpaid, unprofessional staff and feel very little, if any, obligation to their customers. In manchester they only employ a handful of customer service agents compared to the hundreds of ticket agents they get which is why it'll take you several hours to get through to them. When they have horrendous phone call queues they sometimes cut some of the queue off to make their waiting time stats look better and if there is no call queue they will send ticket agents home (the agents tend to volunteer tbh) to create a 10 person queue if they can.
Unfortunately, like many other horrendous giant companies, they have a monopoly on most events.
I would, most of the time, recommend trying to get tickets from the box office at the actual venue in person. Even this isn't always possible.
There are occasionally some decent, ethical people who work there but even they have to stick to company phone scripts and policies as phone calls are often monitored and assessed.0 -
I just cant believe that they think its acceptable to not bother sending tickets for an event, but refuse to refund the money paid when you miss it because the tickets havent turned up. Any decent company would admit its their fault and try to rectify things. In my case they didnt even bother to dispatch the tickets - its not as though they got lost in the post or anything. I'm going to contact trading standards about it anyway because I'm sure I must be entitled to my money back.0
