I recently purchases tickets from Ticketmaster. Added to the ticket price were a number of charges, including a delivery charge by secure post, that amounted to around £19. The tickets were being delivered by a separate company. The company sent me a letter asking me to arrange delivery - I called their 0870 number and arranged it. I had to wait in all day for the delivery, but it didn't come.
I've since tried to sort this out with Ticketmaster and the delivery company. Both of these companies have 0870 numbers, and can only be called during working hours, so I have used my Pay As You Go mobile, at great expense [I don't normally use it]. Ticketmaster refused to redeliver the tickets unless I paid an additional delivery charge of £4.95. I had already paid a delivery charge, but they hadn't delivered the tickets so I didn't want to pay twice. They say that the delivery has nothing to do with them. I pay them, but then my contract is with the delivery company, and that they don't have to stick to the arranged delivery times. I've been phoning both companies trying to sort it out, without success and to my cost, and am getting conflicting stories.
I would advise people against using Ticketmaster. According to them they are under no obligation to deliver the tickets to you, and if you want them delivered you have to be prepared to keep paying additional sums of money.

If I remember correctly ticketmaster claim not to have an arrangement fee but then charge £5 per ticket "for delivery" - for most tickets there are places that are both cheaper and more transparent in their pricing. All posts made are simply my own opinions and are neither professional advice nor the opinions of my employers

Yes, I normally wouldn't use them because of the extra charges, but I couldn't seem to get the tickets anywhere else and they were ones which I expected to sell out quickly.
I'm not so much objecting to the charges, which at least I knew about when I paid. What I didn't expect is that when you pay you do NOT have a contract with Ticketmaster and and that their delivery charge doesn't include an actual delivery! If the company they pick to deliver the tickets don't deliver them, then YOU have to pay for a repeat delivery - another £4.95 each time.0 -
The have however acted as an agent for the seller and therefore do have legal obligations - my contract law is very rusty (and wasnt the strongest even when I was doing my exams) but if the sale is done on their site I cannot see how they can argue that they are only an introducer and not an agent. All posts made are simply my own opinions and are neither professional advice nor the opinions of my employers

That's interesting, because every ticket I've ever received from Ticketmaster has been either through Royal Mail or by RM special delivery. I wonder if they've recently contracted out, or whether it is for specific arenas/artists.0

It wasn't Royal Mail. I gathered from their website that the because the tickets were not seated they used a different company as they had to be signed for. I'm not sure why they can't use Royal Mail special delivery.0

What concert was this for?0

I'd rather not say, but it was one without numbered seats.0

I haven't recieved my tickets for a concert on Sunday yet! And I cannot get through to ticketmaster by phone, and when I email them they just give links to pages that are no help. :mad:sMurphy's No More Pies Club #209
